This is a thread where we write stories of car configs from BeamNG. Here is how it would look: 1st post: Story of a car, choosing car for the next story, 2nd post - Writing the story of the car suggested by previous poster, choosing one for the next story, 3rd post - like the 2nd one, etc. So, here we go. This one is for the Gavril Barstow The Awful: In 1970, Matt Banner, a high school student, received a brand-new Gavril Barstow 423 after passing his driving test. Unfortunately, in 1972 he crashed it into a tree. After that, his parents sold the crashed Barstow and gave him a 1967 Ibishu Miramar Luxe. The Barstow's new owner was Joe Davies, a middle-aged car enthusiast, who repaired the Barstow and fitted it with a supercharger and heavy duty suspension. He used to do cruises and drag races in that car. Unfortunately, after the gas crisis he had to ease up on it. In 1978, the Barstow got sold to Dave Michelson, a community college student and a gearhead. He did some autocross with and also drag raced. It was the car which he had when he met his future wife, Laura, and his wedding car. Unfortunately, in 1984 he had his 1st child, so the Barstow was put up on sale. The new owner was Cletus Philips, a redneck-type man. He drove it around on dirt roads, bashing the suspension up. In 1987, the Barstow threw a rod. The owner decided to put it in a barn, because he wanted to repair it himself. Unfortunately, that did not happen. The car had spent 25 years in the barn. In 2012, it was bought by Lamar Buster, a black downtown gearhead. He hoped to restore it. While he managed to get a new drivetrain and suspension (I6 motor, standard-duty suspension), new body panels, a new coat of paint and new interior panels, he was not able to finish the resto and sold the car in 2015. The new owner is Keith Bryant, a dirt racer. He had done some dirt racing mods to the Barstow, but the car is not yet ready for racing. Now, someone write a story for the Civetta Bolide 390 GTR.
OK, I'm moving this. I did not think this constitutes as roleplaying, but OK. --- Post updated --- Or actually, this is not roleplaying, because in roleplaying you pretend to be someone. Here, you don't. You write backstories for cars, but don't pretend you are their owner, seller etc. There is a thread about map backstories and no one calls that roleplaying.
In 1983, a spy was trying to chase down someone using his old, but gold Burnside Special. Unfortunately, the enemy destroyed the car, so he asked Civetta to make the most powerful, but still road legal Bolide they could ever do.
No, it needs to be a story of the vehicle from the factory to now, in some cases explaining why it is not stock, in some being purely fans playing around. So, it has to be a 1983-2016 story of the car.
The 390 GTR is Civetta's most powerful engine which they used only in racing. The first year of the Bolide only had 320 and 350 variants, and the supercar scene got more and more competitive, so civetta tried to create a turbocharged, 3.4 litre V8 that failed during most testing. Time was running out and sales dropped, Civetta had no choice but to plop in their most powerful engine; the 3.9 litre, high-revving "390" engine. The test car used thinner tires, a weak radiator and their "regular" transmission. During testing, the car handled poorly and could not put down power or manage engine temperatures, so engineers put on a new transmission that would later be used in the group 4 bolide, much wider rims, and fender flares, and a higher-strength radiator that was better, but not perfect. This was what they wanted to make. The concept was unveiled at the auto show, one month after development and was put into production 3 months after. Things were going great. Now that they've seen the Bolide's potential, what could be done to it, they made the group 4 racecar. Big wing with a large diffuser to match, an oil cooler to prevent overheating and an amazing livery that was very bright and memorable, the car went on to win many, many races but then did not meet regulations after a couple of years and the was retired, shortly before the Bolide was discontinued entirely. Now, how about the 200bx?
OK. In 1969, David Townley, a working-class man, bought himself a "lifetime reward" car - a Gavril Barstow 291 Roadsport automatic. He loved it and drove the car to car shows and cruises around town. Unfortunately, in 1974 he had to sell the car to help his retirement fund. The new owner was Amanda Michelson, a young driver. She owned the Barstow for 5 years. She managed to bend the bumpers a bit, due to not being a good driver yet. After the fuel crisis in 1979, the car was given to her brother, Michael. He replaced the original rims with custom Alder ones, installed rear window louvres and drove the car pretty quickly. Once, in 1983, he had a fender bender, but the car was not repaired after it. Then, in 1985, he bought a 1980 Sumitomo Prima (Toyota Celica Supra) and sold the Barstow to Bob Rockford, a lower-class car fan. Rockford gave the car bigger wheels, a manual transmission, a Plus-Trak diff and a supercharger. Unfortunately, in 1990 the car stopped working and was put in the backyard. In 1997, Ron Howardson, a car restoration lover, bought the Barstow. He restored the Barstow, swapping the motor out for a 423 V8. The car was kept by him until 2004, when the prices went up and the Barstow was sold with a profit. It was bought by Jon Rosthill, a muscle car fan. He drove it around town and to cruises. Also, he replaced some parts, bringing the car to its stock equipment level. And in 2010, Firwood Museum of Motoring bought the car. They had put it in the museum, first sending it to a detailing company. Now it is on display in the museum. And the next car story shall be for the Ibishu Miramar Luxe Mira-Matic.
The year is 1964, the success of the Miramar has brought an idea to Akira Kowagara, Ibishu's manager. That idea, was a luxury, top-notch version of the Miramar. And so, it's begun. The Miramar LUXE! But the fans were not happy, the fans wanted something more... An automatic gearbox. So, let it be. One month later, the Luxe recieved its automatic treatment the fans wanted. One specific Miramar Luxe, which fell to the hands of Derrick Gonzalez, [can't continue ;-;]
Ok Sam Martin, a japanese car lover bought a Covet 1.5 DX in 1987. The car just get old and weathered eversince The end (Short story)
In order to keep up with the cool side of cars to keep Gavril from seizing it, they made a Lead Sled, which wasn't loved by too many people.
