I finally did it, I ordered myself a 850 evo 250gb ssd. Got it for 70€ (Gift card ftw) and hopefully it ships soon. I thought about it for a long time and with my luck it'll be on sale or there will be a new model right after I get it :/ . But upgrading from a 6+ year old WD Black and installing clean Win 10 on it will be a hell of an upgrade anyway. (I'm kinda used to the super slow boot times by now). Now I just have to not mess up the windows install.
I have one of those drives. I just cloned my 5-6 year old windows 7 install across to it using the Samsung software and called it a day and all is good and speedy. So with a fresh install you are gonna notice a very nice difference.
Yeah, that's what I thought of doing at first but my windows install is so full of useless crap I just want to start from a clean slate. Anyway, in a few days (hopefully) I'll get the disk and will finally get to experience the speed and power of a proper ssd.
Today i was like : OMG the GTX 1080 finally hit the stores in my country no 1070 though. From what i heard it is 600USD. Then i see the price aaaand its 800 euros wichis like 900 USD.
So the GTX 1060 is coming out July 17th, and it's rumoured to be faster than the GTX 980 and the RX 480 for $249 USD ($299 for the "founders" edition). The exact numbers are in this article: http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1060-6-gb-3dmark-performance-leaked.html So I wonder, if I sell my GTX 970 for $300, I could get a GTX 1060 aftermarket and get a significant performance improvement as well as VR features that the 1000-series has. Any thoughts, not just me but just in general?
They're selling well on local listing sites for $350, given they're mint condition with packaging, so after the buyer haggles (some don't) it could certainly be $300. I do a lot of internet listing sellings and I think you'd be shocked how many people would do such a thing. I sold my 750 ti for $120 within a week - that's just forty less than I paid new.
Shame on you. You're too damn good. Anyway, why upgrade from a 970 to a 1060? Just save some money and go for a 1070 in half a year. A 970 still is plenty until then.
OK, so, tomorrow I buy a Logitech G29, a Logitech Driving Force Shifter, and 2 Corsair DDR4 Vengeance LPX 2133MHz 4GB Ram Sticks (Taking my computer up to 16GB)
today i finally got all my pc parts and now im going to assemble them Processor: i5 6600k Mainboard: MSI z170 gaming pro carbon Ram: hyper x fury 2666mhz 16gb Cooler: Scythe Katana
I have to admit, Scythe Katana is a pretty awesome name for a cooler. Even better than something like Alpenföhn Brocken.
i like the name too hope it performs as good as the name sounds also i think i need a new graphics card because i think the 750ti is going to bottleneck me wich one would be a good idea?
nvidia ones at least used to work, werent great but they worked, 1070 aint too bad reference even (1080 aint great without a retuned fan curve). The 480 one is awful.
