I tried something like this myself, creating a free-swinging connecting rod and linking it to the respective wheels using a welded differential. It worked fine at low speeds, but began slipping and all came apart about ~25 MPH. And this was just between two wheels, I can't imagine how much worse it could get with more wheels. That's actually kinda lazy. If you're gonna make up a company name, go a bit further. Maybe synonyms: Western Consolidated, Pacific Compound, California Concord, etc. Or antonyms, like Atlantic Division. Or even geography-based naming: Kansas & Western, Great Plains RR, Sierra Nevada Railway. When it comes to made-up names, you've got some options.
Can we please get back on track (no pun intended) people? I don't want this thread to be locked again.
You guys putting down the HST 125, you gotta remember, it was designed in the 70's and had to be able to fit twin diesel engines into the super-tiny British loading gauge. So, all things considered..... not that bad.
Stop spamming this guys thread otherwise i could certainly see that this thread becomes lock again and maybe for eternity so that all of you train nerds can spunk somewhere else instead of this thread which is clearly allocated to the discussion and progress of the Steam Locomative that is being created by Chris Lucas amd his many beta testers of which it seems like many of you aren't. Rant over.
Please move your general train conversation on another thread , this is a developpement thread for the chris_lucas steam train
What --- Post updated --- With the new Dry Van Trailer in the 0.6 update, this should be lots fun with the train
When its ready, please don't ask people when they are going to release mods. Most modders don't mod full time, so they have no schedule for a release.
Not sure if someone asked this already, but with the new BeamNG update yesterday do you plan on making it so that train cars can be attached and detached using the new coupling system?
I must've missed the link to download this, looking for a more-recent version than mine from about a month or so ago. Does anyone mind reposting the link? I am going to be taking some more time to make another stab at trying to get train tracks working in my map, Tennessee USA.
There hasn't been a publicly released download yet, but seeing as you already had a version you could message @chris_lucas to see if he'll give you the latest version
