Turned my transmission mount into a dry rotted pancake yesterday by doing a hard clutch dump, so now my shifter is tilted over a bit and if I accelerate faster than an old person it makes this rapid knocking sound. Probably the trans hitting the crossmember. Ordered a B30 engine mount, supposed to go right in and be stiffer than the normal mount. For awhile its had this weird knocking sound (Different from the new one) only when the clutch is slipping in first that developed awhile after I got the car. Again, only when accelerating a bit faster than normal. I'm hoping the new mount will fix this too.
If you have a carrier bearing I'd check that as well. Those make a thrumming knock when they go, and will typically cause a bind in the driveling that will torque the stick to the right under load (assuming that you have an engine that rotates clockwise at the flywheel). My truck has all of the running gear out of another vehicle, and it gradually caused the carrier bearing to become strained and eventually fail. They're pretty easy to check, just crawl under the thing and see how much lateral play you have in the driveshaft. It'll have a little (at the carrier bearing at least) even when it's fine, but when they go it will have tons of slop and be noticeably worn out. Mine was ripped all the way around by they time it started doing what you described above.
Yeah that's a shame. They're real fun to drive. Especially when it fires on all 4 cylinders. And the on-the-fly 4wd is nice.
Decided I couldn't live with the knocking and bought a standard trans mount from the auto parts store. Couldn't get the old one off, at all. So I gave up and changed my diff fluid instead.
never let me down in the Canadian winters here...new tires, Electronic Low, and that baby went anywhere 5 man ATV. front disks on focus are annoying, 7mm hex head, WHY 7MM, NO TOOLKIT COMES WITH A FUCKING 7MM. I had to go to the hardware store and search for one.... Of all the sets they had, just 1 came with a 7mm hex. Otherwise, jobs not too bad on a focus.

Focuses for all markets are rear drums stock, disk optional on rear (except ST and RS which are always uprated disks all round, the ST brakes are larger than stock). Mine had rear disk in UK.
Washed it yesterday and took some nice photos if it today and probably gonna put it up for sale tomorrow. The reason I'm selling it is mainly because I'm getting a bigger class motorcycle license in a few weeks and then I'm gonna start riding some of my dad's bikes. And I also want to have some money as well to buy myself a car at some point. I'm having my driving test on next Tuesday.
Had to weld my muffler back on after loosing it on the Autobahn yesterday and changed the 14inch steel rims to some nice 15inch alloy wheels i got for 150€.
Yeah it is nice for our winters. But I don't think its electronic low... pretty sure its extra low but id have to check. People that drive crown vics always make me think its a cop car and seeing as how I usually speed, ill hammer the brakes for nothing
Changed the spark plugs from 23 year old single copper to brand new single platinum. Still doesn't run perfect (think I may have gapped them wrong, needing an oil change may have something to do with it as well), but I'm still feeling on top with my newfound performance. Very punchy and no longer sounds like a bicycle with a card in the wheel.
Changed out the passenger side engine mount. The old mounts were completely destroyed. They looked okay from above, but underneath the car it was obvious that the top plates were completely separated from the rubber. The drivers side mount still needs replacing, but now the trans is back where it should be and no longer knocking the tunnel. The only thing holding my engine/transmission in for awhile was the completely mushed and rotted trans mount...

Ghia Radio cover & Ghia center console cover with buttons for heated seats Foglights + big light switch (dash lightning adjustable & fog light function) Doorpanels with Ghia Trim But, thats just the beginning. 4x electric Windows will come + comfort module Electric Sunroof some small stuff A Ford friend from ~400km's distance took a visit to me And washed the Sierra.
