BeamNG.Drive is focused on land vehicle (cars, trucks, alike). There are some plane/helicopter mods around, but you won't see them as official game content.
A big part of making a game is limiting scope so you actually get something out instead of entering development hell aka "just one more feature", think of Drive as the flagship game of the BeamNG physics engine. I'm hoping (and I'm pretty sure the devs are too) that other developers will licence the engine for use in other games in the future meaning we will get all kinds of games built on BeamNG physics.
Carlos Air (guy made the acrobatic plane) is working on an helicopter with actual cyclics, which is more realistic considering that the only chopper there is its that bell that has power defined by the gears, and i think its kinda buggy at this point.
