Yeah, I realize that I'm missing a few things. But, I was only giving examples. Its a shame the Hilux isn't sold here in the United States. I'd own one for sure. Also, I liked when the Top Gear Hilux was smashed into a lamp-post. Anyways, lets not get off topic. We need to keep brainstorming about what other additions we can make to the Sparrow. Maybe a 2.5L 4Cyl as the top engine?
Me listing the other things was a joke. Should've added a . Anyway, I've also been thinking a little bit about other engine choices. I was thinking the MkI could share the Miramar's engine and the Mk2 the Covet's, maybe with a few other options too, including diesels. Bigger engines mean no Kei car size restrictions so there could also be extended wheelbase models as well. I have a technique in car design where I do a sort of spreadsheet of all possible variations, even ones that are a bit out there and likely wouldn't be sold. I plan on doing this for some different body styles, and I could work on some engines too.
Ok. Diesels would be neat to have. The Miramar's engine would be pretty fitting for this vehicle. Probably the more sport-y variant of the Sparrow would have the GTZ engine. Also, the Covet's engine sounds like a more top-of-the-line trim kind of thing, however, it would give such a light little 4x4 some good juice. I think that having a Kei car restriction would limit the possibilities of the Sparrow, so maybe there shouldn't be any; So the idea of having an extended wheelbase model would be fantastic! I curious about what other possible variants you were thinking of.
Isn't there a car form of the Geo Tracker? It looks just like a Geo Tracker but instead of the little Jeep like roof, right after the 2 front seats the roof slopes back to a dinky little trunk with a little wing on it for who knows what reason. I see one driving around town here every once in a while... its bright purple and I love to hate the thing. That I would love to smash to bits... I searched google but "Geo Tracker car" doesn't really do the trick... the next time I see it I will have to try and get a picture I guess...
What you are talking about is a Suzuki X90. Those things are not the greatest car in the world, but they sure do grab your attention.
I mean there could be short wheelbase Kei versions as standard with long wheelbase and bigger engines available on higher trims.
Ok. That makes sense. I like that. And maybe a utility long wheelbase version for utility service shops.
I guess I'll put some of the speculation to rest. This vehicle, mechanically, will basically be a Wrangler. I haven't decided what engine it'll use yet.
I've had a couple YJ Wranglers, Both 94's, One had a 2.5 4 Cylinder and a 5 speed, It ran great and sipped gas, but you had to drop down into first at the very sight of a hill. The last one I had had the 4.0 I-6 and an automatic, it had great power, but it was almost ruined by having an automatic and 3:08 axles. The 4 cylinder 5 speed Jeep ended up getting a fiberglass CJ5/7 tilt front clip and a Ford 302, I'd still have it had it not rolled down a 50 ft embankment. And Gabe, if plans are for a Jeep, or a Jeep-esqe thing, Can I suggest that it be based more on the CJ7/CJ8? That way you'd get more engine options, 4 cylinders, 6 cylinders, small block V8's, as well as the CJ8 Scambler? (The Srambler was essentially a CJ7 pickup, you could have a half cab top, or the quite rare full hard top)
Fantastic! Wranglers have pretty much been bullet-proof since they came out! The 4.0L I6 was a fantastic engine. My uncle owned a 2000 Wrangler Sahara with a 2 inch lift, and the 4.0 I6. Thank you for the news! This is great to hear!

I like the Scrambler. It's too bad you don't see many on the roads. They are really cool to look at. Sadly, I have never had the joy of driving one. And the engine bays of CJ7s, you can fit some big stuff in there. 350 V8 for sure.
2 stroke engines would be highly unconventional and likely impractical for an off-road application due to their short lifespan and expensive upkeep, so you could make one by all means but don't expect it to be official. On another note, part of me hopes it's a Gavril so it shares the engines with the D-Series and Grand Marshall while another part of me hopes it's another manufacturer (Soliad, Bruckell) since the other ones are lacking cars . I can't wait to see it, Gabe, and spilling the beans will certainly cause quite the ruckus .
my guess would be bruckell or another brand owned by bruckell because jeep is owned by chrysler and bruckell would be comparable to dodge chrysler plymoth more than gavril would. also soliad would be possible just unlikely
Maybe. Depends on the power output . I'd made a Wankel Rotary engine for the Pigeon already for fun, if anyone wants that. Now that is fun (and terrifying).
