On Hold Volvo 850-855 1990-2000'

This is the first time in my life iv'e seen them work. Really.

 

Lemme guess, most of the Volvo wagons you've seen with those wipers didn't use them.

 

Yeah that and in my country there aren't many volvos

Decided to make my own instead of ripping them.. turned out pretty good

I live in Sweden and have seen my fair share of 855's in my days, never owned one though because i liked the older 240 better. Glad to see someone putting a lot of effort into one for BeamNG Drive!

Pointless fact: In the 70's there was a Swedish law passed requiring that all new cars had wipers on the headlamps. Most of them stopped working after some time and the wiper blades themselves usually came loose and then the wiper arms scratched the headlamp glass when turned on... Ugh... The law was repealed in the '90s but some Volvos and Saabs had them a couple of years after the law was repealed. Look at any '80s Swedish car like the Volvo 240, 740, Saab 900 and 9000 etc and they will be there. My '87 Saab 900 has them. And yes, the blade to the left has come loose, and no they don't work.

 

Volvoraggarstyling #1 - Remove headlight wiper arms. If youre really crazy you shut the holes they leave.

 

So i made some more stuff.. Glass is still not added but it will be..!

 

I couldn't help but notice two things missing from the grille: the 2 diagonal bars, and the square in the middle.


Also, if you want to upload the mod to the repository when it's complete, you might have to remove all Volvo emblems (because copyrights) and replace it with fictional names, like Jargl (which is also Swedish).

 

The grill will be done later, just been letting it be for now and about the emblems, I don't think I can get copyright struck since nobody will pay for the mod. As long as it is free, it shouldn't be a problem

That's funny, because he also asked it in the Camry thread and the pictures were similar as this one but this is a Volvo, the other thread is a Camry. Anyway, progress is amazing. Can't wait until the jbeam is done.

Thanks! Progress has been slow lately, but im working on it as much as i can! The Jbeam will take some time for sure though, so we will see about that..!
