This car has been released: Download it here: https://www.beamng.com/threads/late-model-stock-car-lmsc.45161/ Hello everyone, I finally broke down and picked up Beam.NG. And I have that Mod bug inside of me that wants to add something to the game. I sell 3D assets on sites like Turbosquid and in the Unity store, but I have a car model that would work great in Beam! Earlier this year I created a late model race car that would look something like the cars that race at your local speedway on Saturday night. The car is fully detailed, from a complete roll cage to zip ties holding the fuel lines. The model was originally designed to run in real time apps, so while it is very detailed, the poly count isn't too crazy. Each wheel is 2400 Polys with 2 LOD's (741p,12p), the primary car with everything is 50,000. It also has 2 LOD's (6500p, 158p). I uploaded a simple paint shop program where you can preview this car. *Note, it uses the old unity viewer so only the firefox browser will still run it. So I am just starting to go over the wiki and I am not finding much help related to using 3DS max, but like I said, I'm just getting started. But, I'd be more than willing to work with someone on this. I can send you all of the source assets and you can rig it for Beam. Maybe I'll have to import one of my tracks too!? I'd just love to see this car in Beam.NG and if I have to learn some new tools, no biggie. I just don't have lots of spare time. But if you want to help out, please message me, I'll send you my skype contact info and we can work together on it!
I have a base for a NASCAR Gen 6, that may be able to be adjusted for this car . I'd be totally fine with letting you use it as a base HUGE fan of your work by the way. Have come across your work many times on Turbosquid
cool, ive been looking at getting the 70's impala derby model for a while now. it looks pretty cool. id love to help at making the track as well. if you want any help be sure to ask me, ive made a few cars before and a map as well. good luck with this project.
Like I have mentioned previously, I do have a decent base JBeam for him if he ever does come to reply. So hopefully it won't fail miserably
Think you could do a version that can do right hand turns as well as left hand turns? I know it's unrealistic but who knows what that might look like.
