are you being sarcastic. is burning oil bad, i commute 50 miles round trip to school each day i need to know if this is bad
Yes I was being sarcastic. Judging by the sound if that corolla, it burning oil isn't only problem. Get a mechanic to check that ASAP.
my camry burns oil, but not that much, in fact it burns it and leaks it, but either way, was the engine cold when you shot this? I have a 1987 Celica that smokes only when you start it up cold. Burning oil in it of itself isn't a bad thing, its just an indicator that something bad is in your near future unless you take preventative action. I'm not worried because my car only burns oil (without noticeable smoke, only a smell)when you engine brake, but if it smokes like this all the time and smells of burning oil (which has a distinct smell) than something is wrong in it somewhere, could have a failing head gasket. same goes for burning coolant could mean a head gasket or intake manifold gasket failure is imminent. Infact one time I had a 3.1L 1996 oldsmobile cutlass blow an intake manifold gasket when it never really excessively smoked, it was silently burning coolant for a long time, and those engines are notorious for that, I was on top of it but thought nothing of it until it started overheating after 3 miles. Point is, it looks like a rotten deal to me, id get rid of it before it dies on you
Could be running very rich maybe? Have a leak down test done before you throw money at it. Could be piston rings or valve guides but you'd see more blue smoke probably. If it smells sweet at all that's coolant.
id like to address something my car is street legal it has a sticker until April of 2017 i removed my plates for VIDEO PURPOSES
Thats burning unhealthy amounts of smoke and from the sound, you've got other issues. That goes for all videos in which you can hear the engine running. Though hilariously in your driving on/off driveway videos you can very very clearly see where its just a kid playing in a stationary position. Engine only idles the entire time, doesnt shift in revs at all (which in motion, even if just rolling in 1st no throttle it will). Speedo stays pegged at 0. Camera doesnt shake once to indicate any form of motion. And the most tell tale sign that the vehicle is stationary? THe handbrake light is on. Not to mention you look younger than a friend of mine in reflection off the glass which is saying something as that friend gets mistake for being 12-15 most of the time. Combine with pictures of "your cars" being taken from a distance, combine with your constantly changing story on what cars youve owned and what happens with them along with linguistic style. I'd place you age 14 and not a driver.
