Likely the chassis mesh you've got there could replace the current one with little to no modification to the existing JBeam, so, yeah, a swappable chassis slot is the way to go. --- Post updated --- I can confirm the chassis is perfectly compatible with the unmodified beam structure. All it needs is a few beams around the halo. Doing it as we speak.
An quick and dirty solution to make it work effectively could be to remove the mesh references in the flexbodies section of the main file, and have dedicated sections including the specific chassis mesh in each of the JBeams for the shells. Those needing an halo will also have the required extra beams, while nothing will change for every other body style. The "core" beams will stay in the main file.
So I said to myself... "Let's just import a whole new chassis and be done with this!" This is the result: may I introduce to you... Lucas Oil Crusader, naked. Still missing the steering support, some ancillaries, the whole transmission, the floor and the driver seat (you're just seeing the plain tube chassis here).
When done is it possible to fit a son uva digger body stlyle on or no? You dont need to make one im just wondering
that is a concussion chassis. would be nice to have that chassis as well as a stage 2 truck (bigfoot 4,6,7, GD 1,2, and anything else that ran in the mid-late 80s)
Can somebody send me a .blend of the current chassis, I can probably adapt a Cohen to fit the structure.
i've made another skin. needs some slight modification. its the old nwo truck. just have to make the rest of the truck black. i know the nwo was a chevy truck. but it still looks good on the ford body.
Thanks. I'll build up the skin soon. Black rims? Today I've been tinkering with the new chassis @Fen kindly provided. Alas, the halo is a tad too large for Lucas Oil Crusader, but I can still use it for a couple of Grave Digger-based variants. --- Post updated --- You can open (import) Collada files in Blender. The main file (CRDTest.dae) includes all the meshes. Anyway, here it is, chassis only, in .blend format.
Don't worry, your chassis is probably fine, I also have LoC's own chassis I can use. I have introduced a slot for the chassis in the main JBeam file, so we'll be able to have multiple versions of the chassis and swap them on the fly.
