I think it would be neat to make some ridiculous ram-air sort of setup that pulls through the slats at the bottom of the bumper or something, but I'm lazy and I'd worry about water and dust and debris such. The box is a pretty big part of it. You could just cut holes in the bottom of it like I've seen people do. It's ghetto but it works and sounds good.
ISO, the fucking plugs on the back of the radio. You grab an ISO extension harness, cut the plugs off the end, solder those into the car, end up with something you can plug the headunit into. --- Post updated --- Focus is already ram aired through the upper portion of grill, pop the hood its visible to the right of the grill. Notable power *loss* has been noted with aftermarket airbox modifications in the focus. Though the manifold itself can have some refinement, the gain is typically only a single hp at wheel on the >1.8l models (only the EU 1.4 and 1.6 really benefit from any sort of intake modification) There are minor gains to be made in exhaust, but not great ones.
can do head work to them. The thing is you've got to consider its a euro car. What has been our design methodology for years? If you can make more power easily (such as a semi decent intake system), then why haven't you done it? Tend to find airbox replacement on majority of euro cars is not required until you've modded the car to have a much higher redline(hence more airflow required) or a turbo/SC setup(obvious).
I saw this absolute beautiful thing today. They're rare as it is, so two of them in the same place is lucky. Even more, one of them is a 16 valve sport version. Facing each other, the sporty looker spying his fallen comrade. "Just fuck my shit up fam" And here is the beautiful (not so) fast french luxobarge. I'm sure this thing has seen better days, but it looks absolutely mint compared to its fallen brother. RIP the little BX that couldn't As an addition here's a bonus rustang
Don't do breathing mods unless you are willing to get a proper dyno tune. Cold air intake is fine but trust me a full I/H/E won't get you far without a tune. I'm in the middle of it right now.
It's not for the power, I just don't want to pay a Ford dealer $500 to replace the filter. It's a whole shit load of tubing for such a simple thing. The filter is in the wheel well. That thing right next to the intake is just a resonator. I might as well just make a ram air intake for like $60. It would sound better to. http://www.aa1car.com/library/ford_focus_pzev_air_filter.htm
I love Citroëns that age (or any age really). Too bad I live somewhere they would be very difficult to maintain. Most mechanics would think you brought them a spaceship and would probably break more than they'd fix. That's why they stopped selling them here in the first place; not even Citroën themselves could sustain a good enough dealer network to keep the cars running.
Yep, in america your average gas station mechanic wouldn't have a clue how to work on these cars. The people failed to maintain them properly, and proceeded to complain they were unreliable.
Thats a completely different setup from any focus I've ever seen. Seems they changed it for a 2.3 then.
It's a PZEV car. It has the same engine as the 2005-2007 Focus ST and my car has 6 less horsepower than that. I have a feeling the Intake is the only reason. I might actually gain some power if I do rip that whole system out.
since i can't find the most beautiful cars thread, here is a car i fell in love with today. the Ford GTX1. photo is from Forza Horizon
Nah, wouldn't want to go that far. --- Post updated --- Also, after thinking about it, I think I'll start calling the R32 the "Weeaboo Camaro".
