    I remember trying this map a while back and not being able to get decent enough framerates between my old video card and the skid thing. Awesome to see it more well optimized now. I decided to do a time attack of that same downhill scenario with the Pessima and managed to get 6'48.903 with a few errors here and there due to not quite having everything memorized.


    I'm also planning on running the ETK K-series, ETK 800 Series, Bolide and SBR4 on the downhill for a Showdown Series video. It feels like a perfect road for supercars so I want to see how they all do. A little teaser for that:

    Thanks, you're quite the driver yourself considering your controller limitations. Not sure I'd be brave enough to get as close to some of those walls as you did without analog throttle.

    Went back yesterday and tried to get a good screenshot for my Showdown Series 2 thumbnail, ended up with enough concepts that I thought I'd post a little gallery. PM me if anybody wants any of them as a PNG without the text. I can also post them without the borders, but only in JPEG format as the PNGs have framerate counters on all of them.

    you're nice. In fact, i was mainly bored by the brakes and the steering, in the big brakings and in the passages at high speed (specialy the passage along the wooden barriers wtih the cows). the others scenarios are easier

    I like the 4th picture. we recognize well all the cars and there is a little bit of landscape, IMO

    hi
    i'm hesitating to make an update. i've seen that some barriers , bales of hay and road signs are bad placed,. May be change the angle of the camera in the multiplyer scenar. put rocks/ cliff rocks on the side of the road at some place, and MAINLY, correct the big faults of english in the description of the scenarios.... IS someone canr help me? i speak english like a quiche.

    happy that you have pleasure with the map. You can thank the devs ( and me too ), for the news terrain shape tools. Whitout them, it would have been impossible, i believe.

    Hello!

    I reput the map in the state of Work In Progress because today i've start to work again on the map. I think an update is doable and necessary. And she will be certainly the last before i start an other map or i tell you goodby at never
    Things planed:
    - corrections of bugs, like the scenar's pictures doesn't working, the transitions between 3dmodels and their imposters, the elements not supported in the meshes or the missing textures.
    - I will watch for improve the colisions with the road signs and the wooden barriers
    - Maybe i will add some rocks at some places. The colisions with the terrain ( in shape of cliff , in this case) in some turns are sometime a little bit weird
    - I have changed 2 or 3 details almost invisible about the 2d grass

    After, I don't really know what i could make of more.... Redo improve the texture of the road? Remake the rally scenarios? I'm not that a lot of people play the scenarios
    I have watched for put maybe a road/ path in more but i think i will don't put. Other ideas will come when i will work

    hi, there is the news, in details

    all the 3dmodels are passed in blender for correction of bugs "element not supported in the mesh IDXX". I've corrected also the textures not founded by the game. This details are not visible but i suppose that the game works better ...
    I've simplified the small walls on the side of the road ( polygones superfuous )
    I've removed the colisions of the road signs and the wooden barriers. 've take a cube in grid map, that i've modified in puting invisible textures in order to make a collision cube , and that i've placed on every signs or barriers. At the mininum, they does 0.6x.0.6m otherwise it's still to much sticky. The final result isn't fabulous but much better than before. Maybe i will make same for the houses, jesus cross, granges et hangars.
    I've start to put rocks at the place where it seems to me necessary but it keeps a lot to do

    Next;
    I ve the idea to removed all the hillclimb and downhill scenarios in the order to put them in quick race ( likr this you will can to choose the car that you want). Maybe make several course in more, half asphalt haft earth, with indications and pacenotes. except if everybody don't care, of course ... don't hesitate to answer me, i will be glad

    on the other side;
    i'm studding for a new map .... i'm very temped by a nippon atmosphere, the a temple, japanese portal, maybe bamboo forest etc... More than a simple landscape/ biotop , i would like to implant something of new (in hoping that no one haved the same idea). A slope with a very strong acceleration, until 400/ 500/ more? km/h in a very short time, for crash yourself in different obstacles. At the end, if never , there will be a lot a things in the map. normal road, race track, stunt race track. i will see.

    Eventually, i can easily to add a new ramp with a big acceleration in the stairway moutain map, if you want

    Hmm. A big ramp could be interesting. But you'd have to nail the transition zone. And some touges could be fun for the nippon map.

    Happy that you are still improving it, this is one of my favourite map ;) About the new map I really like the idea of the "nippon atmosphere", go with it! And about the big ramp of course it should be funny
