It's not hard to do. Just install it to the drive, as you would any other drive. You have reminded me that I want to get x86 Arch on a flash drive for repair purposes.
This. Just this. There are many guides on making persistent Linux usb installs and all overcomplicate it. Boot Linux from one USB, while the stick you want to use is blank and inserted in another port. Tell the installer to install to that stick. Done. Much easier than guide methods
So i want to upgrade to skylake. So im trying to sell most of my current pc on craigslist. (im not shipping, dont ask). But the question is do i go 3 months without a desktop while i wait for it to sell? or just not even try to sell it? i currently dont have a source of income, and getting one is not an option, except for selling things. I DO have some things i could sell, but i dont think it would be enough. Specs system im selling at $750 usd i5 4670k 8gb ram gtx 760 2 way SLI evga 750w psu roswill thor 2 case wd blue 500gb drive its a nice system, and i probably dont need skylake, but i get all sorts of bugs and problems that are weird and very frustrating. Having skylake would put my mind at ease that it is for sure NOT the hardware. EDIT just lowered price to 650. a tad low but i only really need to get 600 from this. Seeing as how i have a power supply, gpu and hard drives, i dont need much, and i dont need a overkill system
Hey guys, I was wondering if I could get some help finding a system, seeing as this community is well acquainted with computer hardware. I'm looking for a laptop with support for an active pen (a stylus that has pressure detection), and also I'd like to say I'm not interested in an external tablet. My price range is 1400-1500 aud (1150 USD). So far the best I've found is the Lenovo yoga 510 (configured like this http://www.harveynorman.com.au/leno...gclid=CKafqsWE5M8CFYOavAodZgsC5w&gclsrc=aw.ds ) It took me a while to find a system which has discreet graphics and active pen support. Thanks in advance!
While I can't recommend anything right now, I can give you some advice. The R5 M430 is a completely gutless waste of silicon. While it may be difficult to find in your price range and with pen support, an Nvidia 940M/MX will suit you much better. It's also important to remember that the U-sku Intel processors are dual-core hyperthreaded. Unfortunately, they'll be all you can afford, so try to find an i7-6xxxU/7xxxU equipped model.
So, this exists then: http://www.geforce.com/hardware/10series/geforce-gtx-1050 Seriously thinking about upgrading to an FX-8350 and one of those instead of buying a new laptop, since they compared it to the 750ti which I'm guessing the 1050 will be similarly priced.
Only In a few cases am I seeing actual better gaming performance with my 6600 than my 1090t. Ksp and space engineers were my 2 biggest reasons for upgrading.
Never "upgrade" to an FX-8350. At the moment it's intel or nothing. Get an i3 and an AMD GPU. Those are better at DX12, which is what most games will have in a couple years. Considering the fact that KSP has been running on one single core until som time ago, I second and third that problem.
I can't get an i3. I can only afford to upgrade my current hardware, can't really buy a new motherboard or anything. I'm on an FX-6350 right now...
An FX-8350 is hardly an upgrade from an FX-6350... two more (weak) cores and a bit high stock clock really. Still awful single-threaded performance, which is what's needed for any sort of gaming and really any intensive applicaition. Save your money, don't spend a dime more on your old platform. Get a used Intel board+CPU (anything newer than 2nd Gen Intel is faster than Bulldozer) or wait until Zen.
Microsoft Surface Pro 4 i7 (with Intel Iris graphics). The Surface is the best tablet and laptop I've ever had. Comes with a brilliant pen. Delivers decent performance (Core m3, i5 and i7 ULV CPUs), excellent build quality and it looks great. Don't forget to buy the Type Cover 4 as well. edit: That i7 w/ Iris graphics costs 2400 AUD. Oops. I'd recommend the i5, 4GB, 128GB then. https://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msaus/en_AU/pdp/Surface-Pro-4/productID.326547400 ! 10% discount for students (education store)
Yay my 750ti just went. I now need a new card wich one should i get? Im having 200€ should i save a bit and get a better one afterwards or buy a cheap one?
My GTX780 still runs those games perfectly fine in 1080p & 60 fps 'capped' (Vsync). The RX480 is roughly 30% faster than the GTX 780. So yes, I think you can max GTA out on 1080p (maybe not the advanced settings). BeamNG I don't really know.
