This is my first decent go at making something in Blender. I'm hopeless at it but this is what I have so far :') The rear wheel arch hasn't been touched properly yet but the front wheel arch took a long time to do and I'm not sure what I think of it. I've mostly been working on only the front for now and it doesn't look to bad so far. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated as I'm not an expert in this by any means lol Here an update a day later. Found some very helpful tools within blender by chance and mis-clicking as I always do lol. I have cleaned it up a bit and made it more accurate. Sort of fixed the rear arch but not much. Mostly focused on the front, side and roof. More updates done to the overall car as you can see UPDATE: Ok I took a break from this project to learn more about blender which was a good choice as I realized making things with a subsurface modifier makes life infinitely easier so Ill be starting all over again. Got this far in about 30 mins so it shouldn't take too long The poly count may be a bit high, I don't really know but if it is I can easily reduce it.
While encouraging comments are good, constructive criticism is more useful. You mentioned that this is your first (decent) model in blender so a few tips should definitely help. A smooth and ordered model is always important but especially for BNG. It improves shading and allows the model to deform properly with the JBeam. With your model, you have a very inconsistent poly density, where hundreds are around the arches but very few elsewhere. Try and have a similar number and similarly sized polys all over the model. It'll look cleaner and the shading will be better. Zappymouse posted a quick guide to good wheelarches which might be good to follow. Also have a look at these pics of models with a nice poly flow and try to replicate it. Don't be disheartened, everybody starts from somewhere and the first step is to start!
--- Post updated --- Oooh that will help a lot. A few pics of the interior, engine bay and front and rear wheel wells for the suspension would be very helpful Cheers! --- Post updated --- Cheers I've just cleared a lot of those polys around the arches. I'll have to learn how to make a smoother model in Blender as I dont know many tools atm. I'll have a look at that guide. Thanks!
PLZ DON'T ABANDON IT. I BEG YOU. I've seen so many cars like these that were promising and were abandoned without a release. Please don't derail my hype train
Apologies, but I'm being a little steely because I usually see cars like these and never get to be a proper mod. I have one of these vehicles in real.
Woops, just read your answer. Will make pics tomorrow The engine in my 205 is the GTI 1.6i (it is a normal '205 XT' from the outside).
I'm waiting for a decent peugeot in beamng for a long time !! Please don't abandon i really love the 205 !! By the way it look like you're doing a great job !! --- Post updated --- There is someone else who is doing a 205, it's Teh Daemon
I'd suggest that you ask this as a question in the "questions and support" thread rather than individually asking one modder for this. Have you looked at the wiki in on this site? It has a couple of tutorials there for modding and such.
