Just remove those lines in the uv by erasing them.

That's the only way to do it, look at my latest creation, I did that, and had to erase those lines

    1. Switch to GIMP, paint.net is terrible IMO. It's a fact that paint.net is lacking in important features.
    2. Use layers, the UV map PNG you have is only a guide. It should not be part of your output. Look up "how to use layers in an image editor" on your favorite search engine and pick a tutorial.

in paint.net, there's layers. work on a new layer, and delete the UV layer afterwards

From my perspective not knowing about layers indicates that someone is a beginner. If they've got to learn how to use image editing software... they may as well learn on something worthwhile. :-/

I see absolutely zero reason to start with paint.net. GIMP adopts more traditional image editing paradigms (good for taking advantage of exiting educational materials!) and isn't all crippled like paint.net, which is always missing some crucial feature or another. IMO the longer a person uses paint.net while their contemporaries use things like GIMP, Photoshop, or even PHOTO-PAINT or PaintShopPro... the more they'll feel like they've gotten a raw deal and wasted time learning inferior software... their peers will put out work that they simply can't match. It's not just missing certain basics, it's also missing all advanced tools as far as I know. GIMP doesn't have everything that Photoshop does, but at least it's not completely de-fanged in comparison. :-/

Frankly I've been using image editing software for a long time and I had never heard of paint.net until I started hanging around the BeamNG forum. Clearly paint.net has gained a following, and not just with the BeamNG community - but I'm still the opposite of a fan.

GIMP is free, open source, and better in every way. I think a quick search really illustrates the difference in capabilities and target market. Take a look at the image results for paint.net tutorial when compared to the image results for GIMP tutorial. Granted that neither set of images is anywhere near representative of the full power available in either program... it's clear that if you want to make nice things GIMP is the [free] tool for the job. (I also strongly suspect that while regular web searches for those terms end up with similar numbers of results... the ones for paint.net are quite inflated! Flip to page 10 of the two sets of results and you'll find that while you're still looking at GIMP tutorials, you've switched to a bunch of spam in the paint.net results.)

    /steps down from soapbox

I will admit, paint.net is crap and missing important features.
    I would rate 3.5/5 or something. :I

Oh, and I probably skipped like 3 paragraphs or something, idk.
