BeamNG.Drive Remote Control App - Feedback and Bug Report thread

The odometer of the app does not work, it stays at 0

 

Please read the thread before replying, you need to have outgauge enabled in the games settings for outgauge features of the app to work. Were working on making this process easier

 

You should add that to the app itself as a note.

 

I do have the outgauge enabled! And everything else such as speedometer works! Just the odometer doesn't work!

 

I'd guess that is a WIP. See below

 

ah ODOmeter, that was my fault for misreading (had gotten used to all the "Speedometer doesnt work!" replies) my apologies. Yes the odometer does not function yet. Im not sure the support for that is even in BeamNG yet at all

 

All right. HAHA Speedometer and odometer are just two similar words

 

I still have the same problem as before. Random movements, mostly to the right and forward.

Edit: I reinstalled the app on my phone,
still doesn't work.

 

Can you explain a bit more what you mean? The throttle in the app is either full(1) or nothing at all(0) as its a button, not an analog slider or something. If throttle is on just slightly it's gotta be cause by another source of input causing problems. Though if you have nothing else plugged in I'm not sure how that's possible

 

Hi guys I need help with this app as soon as i activate it in the game my car starts going backwards and when i press my screen on the right hand side my car turns to left so i go to key binding and whatever i press it sets it automaticly to button 0 :/

 

You should not be binding any keys using the app. It sounds like you may have rebound app buttons to do something other than what they were intended to do. In the Controls Menu in BeamNG please click the "RESET ALL" button to fix any broken key bindings. Then make sure you have no other controllers plugged in when you start the app. The left of the screen is brake, the right is throttle, and you tilt the phone to steer your vehicle. Hope that helps!

 

Ok, so, on the Hardware tab button0 is always on 0%, button1 is always on 50% and xaxis is randomly either on 0% or on 125-150% (the bar goes out of the meter). Also this only is the case, if the BeamNG.drive window is activated. When it's in the background button0 has 0%, button1 has 50% and xaxis has 0%.

 

There seams to be you and one other person with this problem or a similar one so it might be a bug somewhere. I have so far been completely unable to replicate it to try and find a fix though :/ What device are you running the app on? Does the ui in the app update properly or does nothing work at all? Im thinking it may be a connection/firewall related issue

 

I have a Huawei P9 lite and the UI in the app works normally and displays everything accordingly to the random acceleration and everything. I also tried to reinstall the app, but that didn't fix the problem.

 

Well I tried that already and it is still not workign im using Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge..

Does the app respond to any input at all? If you hit the throttle and brake and steer what happens? Also there should be a "Delay: " at the bottom of the screen that shows the delay in your connection, does that work and update properly?

 

It does respond to input, but in a very strange way.
When I press the right side where I normally would accelerate, button0 gets the input and the car breaks and it sometimes stutters. When I press the left side it does nothing, but also sometimes it stutters. When I tilt my phone to the left, it accelerates and when I tilt it to the right it does nothing. Also the tilt of the phone seems to be linked with button1, because when the phone is straight, it's on 50%, on the left it's 0% and on the right it's 100%. The xaxis input just randomly flips out like mentioned previously and no input from the phone or something else seems to influence it.
Also the delay thingy in the hardware tab does exactly the same as the xaxis thing and seemingly simultaneously, like it was somehow connected.

I got a new phone over the weekend (LG V20) and was hoping that it would have this behavior but no luck, still works perfectly on my end :/ I have been trying to reproduce it but havent been able too unfortunately. Is there any more info you can give that might lead me towards reproducing the issue? Anything weird you do with your phone like running through a vpn, strange router, or anything like that?

As a side note, with my V20 i did find that the app was completely unable to connect, im not sure if this is a Android nougat issue or just the v20 specifically. Either way i have released a fix for this, it should be available on the store at any moment
