I currently live with 4 Chinese students. I think China is more progressive than people give it credit for being, not because of the politics (which are very bad) but because the younger generation there seem to be fairly clued in. Apparently VPN's are not uncommon. They also seem to be fairly miffed at the politicians. As are people in many countries :p

Their country has been propelled forward by the industrial revolution and if the rest of the world doesn't put in its best effort to stay ahead they will themselves.
On the other hand we will all be affected by its consequences.

Yeah... but I'm still glad I won't suffer to the extent of living in the US.

Xi jinping and Vladimir putin could both sit at a table with Adolf Hitler, Joseph stalin, and benito mussolini and I wouldn't know who to shoot first. the Chinese will never overthrow their government. they are blinded by nationalism shoved down their throat by the evil communist party. the recent developments surrounding the south China sea, and the new Internet control measures they are taking have me convinced. we're the good guys and they are the bad guys. it is that simple.

My point was that the younger people are very nice and seem to have a decent idea as to what is going on. So hopefully overtime their country will be shaped to be how they wish for it to be.

Don't go moaning about other people overthrowing their government when your plan for overthrowing yours is to not vote :p

If you want evidence to how advanced china is these days they launched their Long March-5 spacecraft recently that is equally powerful to the most powerful rocket the US has ever made. Supposedly they are capable of transporting both cargo and people into space, this is something the US is no longer capable of. Their current space plans are for a lunar colony, which seems a lot more plausible than a Mars one right now, meaning they may also be the first to have a space colony if they continue at their current pace.

Their human rights may be questionable, their government may be not so keen on free speech, however they are getting impressive things done. Which at the end of the day may be all they need to do in order to become more dominant than the US.

Do I believe that is exactly what will happen, no, however a lot of the western world seems fairly complacent and has recently been copying China in terms of citizen surveillance.

Number of issues here. first off, not voting is a valid response to a 2 party system that uses anything resembling an electoral college. second, you have some balls telling me about Chinese technology breakthroughs when EVERY THING THEY AQUIRED WAS THROUGH INDUSTRIAL ESPIONAGE. you also had the bravery to call the long March 5 the most powerful rocket ever flown? the Saturn 5 built by NASA can put 3 times the payload into low earth orbit and that was designed in the 1960s! I can clearly see you live with 4 Chinese students. their industrial revolution involved of espionage and what is pretty much slave labor. so your argument that their government sucks but hey they are getting amazing things accomplished is a farce, and that line of reasoning in Germany is exactly why Hitler was able to come to power. it's not Europe's and America's business what the Chinese government does to it'd citizens? if America didn't invade Germany my grandfather would have died in a concentration camp. so easy to turn a blind eye because it's not happening in your country. we're all In this together no matter where your live. America and Europe need to police the world together I'm sorry. humanity above sovereignty, no exceptions.

Im pretty sure the UK voted for sovereignty above anything else recently :p

Here is the source for information regarding the rocket: http://arstechnica.co.uk/science/2016/11/china-long-march-5-launch-moon-rocket/
However you are correct that I misread the bit about mass:
Therefore it is only equal to current US rockets, as opposed to all US rockets.

It doesn't really matter where they got their tech from. What matters is that they are pushing it into the future while the US is not (outside of private companies). Meaning that they may be the first to get a colony outside of earth. Im not saying that how they run their country is optimal for its citizens, what I am saying is that it won't matter if they gain space supremacy because they will be more powerful than the US.

If automation goes the way it is expected to the US may also suffer since it doesn't have any particularly good welfare plans in place.

To any fellow Americans who may read this,

We are boned, fine ladies and gentlemen. Either way you look at this shit show, we will fall. Pack up your shop, folks. It's game over.

At this point its just because people are looking at it more closely and reporting it. All makes and models of phones explode in certain cases and even cases such as the note 7 its in very small numbers. Idiots will use $1 chargers and cables that cause damage all the time which is probably what causes most of these problems, with some exceptions of course.

Manufactures need to be ready for anything as rest assured some idiot will come along with a 250V wall socket with a USB soldered onto the end...

Tha falcon heavy will easily put twice the payload up for less money, and the next generation launch vehicles are around the corner. NASA's space launch system will insert 130 metric tons into LEO. the Saturn 5 has done over 140 tons. again their tech is all stolen so that fancy rocket you brag about on their behalf is actually not even theirs to brag about. another is their j20 stealth fighter. nice try my wide aspect ratio friends, Lockheed Martin still does it better. but hey they are putting man on the moon...again. have fun walking in our 5 decade old footsteps while we send men to Mars in the 2030s.

It's been fun to poke fun at this election, but when you stop and think about it, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are the best two candidates we could find? It's a mockery of the electoral system.
It's a mockery of the United States.

An interesting analogy I saw earlier was, if you were in need of open heart surgery, and your two options are Josef Mengele (Hillary), Who knows exactly what he's doing in there, but probably doesn't have your best interests in mind, Or Dr. Van Helsing from the Cannonball Run movie (Trump), Who sounds good, but doesn't really have any idea what he's doing.

I've heard New Zealand is nice.

It is because all people are paying extra attention to samsung and ready to blame them even in a single malfunction
As @VeyronEB said chargers also effect the battery + rough usage of phone for example i stop using it when my s7 gets too hot (apparently some people cant just do that).

Shame that was also the last visit to the moon. The Saturn V hasn't been used in over 4 decades.
As for doing things for cheaper I am not sure the US can compete there. China has a bit of a reputation for doing things cheaper than the US, if that were not the case most US companies would not have moved their manufacturing there.
The J20 does not need to be better than US fighters, all they need is many of them for not a lot of money, which as I have mentioned is currently kinda their thing.
Wired has a decent article on it here: https://www.wired.com/2016/11/china-j-20-fighter-jet/

As I have said time and again, the future does not care for who stole what from who, all it cares for is who succeeds. The US is facing a major threat in the form of China, yet seems to be doing little about it. If the US continues that way China will overtake.

As I think I have made clear I would rather have a country with a decent human rights record and freedom of speech on top. The US has done some very impressive stuff, but China is catching up, they are fairly well educated and unlike much of the US they seem to be very motivated.

As far as I am aware the Galaxy S7 thermal throttles its charging and processor together. Since it cannot run both at high usage at the same time. So it shouldn't ever get hotter than Samsung allow for it. My Galaxy S2 used to turn the screen brightness down when it was running hot (sometimes over 50c, 122f) and would also throttle charging to the point where games would still drain the battery fast while on charge with a good charger.

This will be very biased towards the OP3, but if you scroll down they have a comparison of the OP3, Nexus 6p and S7 edge which shows the throttling.

Never has been so true. My civics class was a bit dramatic like that today and it was a bit dumb.

Best using the stock charger or one from a reputable brand, take Belkin for example. I've had my braided lighting cable for my iPod Touch for 3 years and it's excellent.

While I would agree I did use a £5 charger from Curries on my S2 for about a year because my parents wouldn't let me buy a proper one online, so I had to go into a store cash in hand. The charger was awful, the touch screen stopped responding accurately when it was plugged into the charger and that phone lasted 4.5 years as my primary and still runs fine today (other than the custom ROM that is on it which has seen better days :p). That phone also ran pretty hot too as stated earlier and was left on charge over night even with the crappy charger.

So while it is best to take best practice precautions, most devices are pretty resilient anyway providing you don't put them in the microwave to charge.
