Just some things i was thinking about i don't know if someone has mentioned these things i did search for them but not hard. 1. pop-able tires, the tires can get pretty messed up but they don't seem to realistically pop. In my car in real life if i hit a curb i will probably bust my tire. I think it would be a huge improvement to add something similar to beamng. 2. a jeep like vehicle, (cj jeep model) or even the 4 door version (jeep wrangler unlimited) or something similar maybe someones modded one in, ill look for it. 3. maybe a test dummy in the car XD. (if kept realistic) Where you can choose to have the seat belt on or off, and see what happens to the dummy with it on or off. If he flys outta the car thru the wind shield or out a window during a roll over. 4. AN AWESOME ONE, steering wheel support with FORCE FEEDBACK!!! That would be so awesome to hit bumps and stuff and actually feel it in the steering wheel!! 5. also one last thing, maybe make cars get dirty, example if i splash thru mud or drive on a dusty road the car gets dirty.
I agree with all of these. The game needs a mascot of sorts I think. A crash test dummy would be great, since BNGD seems to be going on a pro-crash campaign.
I'll use this topic so I don't need to open another one. How about camera moving in the way of the crash force when hitting an obstacle? This should be enabled only when you have camera inside your car (interdoor camera). What do you think about it?
You know, when you crash, you head does not stay in the same position. I suggest to move or rotate head (camera) for a bit to get more realistic view from inside of car.
Tires can go flat, they just dont go flat very easily. I have done it a few times, but I destroyed the car in the process.
In my experience ive seen the image of the tire or the black part go away but it still drives and acts as if the tire is still there, and this is only after ive utterly destroyed the car.
They don't shred yet. Keep in mind that BeamNG is still in alpha. It does go flat though, although its a bit glitchy at times.
For the record... I've gotten flats, I've shredded, I've blown sidewalls. I've also had chunks go missing, that's pretty funny to drive with. If anyone here knows how many ways a tire can destroy itself, haha it will probably be me. It's just a question of getting it to do it in a normal scenario. Because I'm not normally, doing something normal. Normally. (Flats are particularly fun actually, the wheel speed re-inflates the tire. When you slow down and turn it will roll over on itself like a real tire. Very cool to look at.)
Second that. As for the topic I would be seriously content with material based paint damage. For instance, when you hit a K-rail at 45 degrees it's concrete and you'd have the associated concrete paint damage. Crash marks on the k-rail would reflect the same. Hit a tree and you'd get the associated "buffing/wood bark" damage on the vehicle and the tree would lose bark. Resource hog probably.
