Hello, so for my current project I need a uv map which this time isnt included in my textures, so i watched some tutorials here and there and got something after some work. sadly it doesnt works in game, it just gives me a solid black color which isnt changble at all , just some marks here and there change their color; I can give some files on request. The Uv map is here --- Post updated --- ah and i used this as a tamplate, maybe you dont understand what hes saying but i just wanna say whre i got the information from
Please post screenshots showing your problem. It would also be good to post screenshots showing your desired result. I'm not sure that I understand what you need. Are you trying to unwrap a mesh you've made?
okay, so let me explain in detail: 1st I opend blender and mergerd all my parts of the car together, now i selected first the front of the car, pressed uv map from view , this i did with all sides and put them on a picture which i exportet like that: Then I tried to use it as the main texture where the color should get onto. I turned out to be black; this was my question, why its turning black. (just the yellow parts in the black can change the color. so for now i took a blank white .jpg which works fine , also with color change and so but I cant create skins on it (blank white pic) can you help me in any way? if you need files, just pm me , i can give you the .blend which you can see in the 2nd pic and also the whole vehicle game file including the current .dae
Firstly - thanks for the pics and explanation. That helps a lot. Did you make sure to export the DAE after generating the UV map? The meshes are where the UV map lives, so if you didn't export the meshes to DAE after creating the UV they won't map to your texture / material properly! If that's not the problem then I'd be happy to take a look for you (as I have time). It's easiest for me if you just send everything (vehicle zip + the .blend).
no, i didnt exportet my mesh after the uv map was done, because i merged all parts together. but how can i create uvs on one picture by using more than one object ? --- Post updated --- quick update, after some tries i figured it out, might be not the way of normally doing it and it might be not the 10/10 uv map but it works
Looks like you did it the way I was going to recommend: Just do them one at a time. Either imagine where the other parts were on the texture OR import a texture/picture to show it on each successive UV. There may be better ways but I don't know. @gabester - any advice for us mortals?
