Hey guys, I have the idea for the devs to add windshield wipers into BeamNG.Drive. I've seen real life car crash videos, and sometimes when they get into accidents, the windshield wipers will go off. It'd also be more realistic since there's a way to make it rain. I don't know how they would make them move, but if you look, they're wipers are already on the car. If you could add this someday, that would be amazing.
They were playing around with specular values of the roads to make them look wet, so i wouldn't mind having functional wipers, seeing as most of the vehicles already have the wiper blades, buttons, etc.
I just realized the Roamer has a rear wiper. It would be great if both the front and the rear wipers worked.
yes wipers would be awesome. I was thinking that they could make it rain and snow and depending on the weather for example in the snow the cars would become whiter on the top and hood and also the roads would become more slick. also when you crash into dirt cars should get dirty and leave tire tracks in the dirt. that may make it laggy though so I don't know if it is a good idea. this is unrelated but how do I start making mods. is there a special wokshop to download?
I know that this is all about realism, but if we were to have working wipers, why not detect if the environment was rainy? That way an animated texture on the windows could have "water" flow down them and look like they are being wiped. Could be an issue if wiper timing is off, but it could work.
