I thought it was a Renault 9. Was just about to suggest it. The short trunk and the boxy rear light immediately made me think of the Peugeot 305 / boxy small 80s sedan, but that clearly wasn't it. Then I remembered that Renault had a similar small sedan available during that time (80s). Some googling (Renault 1983 ) and I found out it was the Renault 9. The Broadway is the modern version of the 9.
This was in a recent The Simpsons episode. What car is this based on? Not a big expert on cars from this time period.
