I found some old file in JRI folder. The file is called Chapter_2_prototype.prefab, and is quite clearly hinting at a 2nd campaign, or so I believe. Spoiler: Might contain spoilers for 2nd campaign, IDK. Prefab files are for scenarios and campaigns. Namely, they indicate what objects should the game place. The file is clearly pretty old, since it contains a config for a pickup (D-series), which has the trailer as a part of the pickup (so the file is pre- 0.6) The file also uses the ferry. That's the first time I saw the ferry in use in an official game file, although I may be mistaken. The file also used to have an object, called "Rally_finish". That object was duplicated and the original copy erased, so all that is left is the line refering to "rally_finish" as the clone origin of another object ("scenario_objective_1"). That's all I found in the file that I think is worth mentioning. Sorry in advance if this was already found by someone else and mentioned a long time ago.
I am bit off topic now from the last stuff but I just had a small, not idea but.. I was thinking about multi-player of course because everyone is bugging me with it.. Everyone who ever asked.. My thought is: It is going to come out at some point. And we know when that point is. The devs themselves said months if not years ago, that multi-player is on there to do list. But Ofc on the bottom of this list. My thought is that they want to release all the important bits such as the cars( Legrand, Bluebird, Hopper etc) first. Then of course the 2 maps Italy and West Coast USA. After that a lot of simulation related things like Tyre Sim and performance. My guess is that multi-player is NOT going to come out this year or in 2017.. My guess is around mid to late 2018, when version 1.5 to 1.7 is released.. Just a guess.. Ofc it dosent mean that I know these things.. It just my thoughts so please don't hate me for saying something like this.. The Devs said it them self that it is on the bottom on there Big long Todo list I mean sure.. Multi-player is a great thing and all.. But without a proper game to play.. Would be boring to be honest.. I mean the game is good in its current state.. But it is a bit Un finished.. And laking a few features here and there
Actually there are also scenario prefabs for DRI: there was a Small Island-styled Rally event in DRI, and even there is a Rally start/finish banner for DRI made, but probably abandoned by devs after JRI is completed; And there are the earliest scenario files for Industrial map, probably is the thing that devs showed in v0.3.x(x<6): checkpoints were still written as "trigger_xxx", and there was about 5 small race scenarios on that little racetrack in Industrial map. Well......... I'm pretty bad at explaining things since English isn't my first language, wish you can sorta understand OT: devs started posting stuff in recent days, maybe the update will come at the end of November? And seems that BeamNG's update pace is slowing down from per month to per 2 month(PLEASE don't criticise me for being impatient)
Whatever the file I found, it's not from DRI, it's from JRI. So the chances of it being something old but relevant in terms of the next chapter for the campaign, and not some leftover abandoned code, is pretty high, I think.
Would be nice if devs made a beta available to people on the forums for forum members who have been on the forums for like a year or have like 300 posts and 50 likes. likelikelikelikelikelikelikelikelike
Well you would just get an half assed, unfinished, buggy update then. Wouldn't be fun. And how would you even set it up so that only certain people would get the update? And people that wouldn't get access to it would probably complain.
A Specific number of posts or likes is not a good or smart way to go about who gets to be in a beta for this game or even a mod. Beta or Alpha's go to people who know how to solve possible problems and suggest Good improvements. People don't just hand out betas to people who have likes or messages, they send them to people who are willing to contribute and will provide good quality feedback. The time factor is a reasonable idea but not something that should be used to find suitable people to test stuff.
Not only that, but sometimes you also need input from people who are new to the game, since they can point out things which somebody who got used to the game might not even register anymore.
