..We did have the experimental branch back then.. I believe the dev team got rid of it because of to many complaints due to bugs etc etc. I don't mind waiting I remember back then we had to wait months between updates.
I think they got tired of the complaints of "why is this not working" or "the game broke" type of threads as they were pouring in by the tonnage. People were also confused on which mods worked with what version etc etc. Tons of bugs etc etc. I personally did not mind the bugs, and loved testing out the new features. One day I jump on to play and the experimental branch was gone, wish we still had it but I can understand why they got rid of it.
I don't really mind waiting, mostly because i'm very patient, and also because back when I had joined, big updates happened every 3-4 months, like from the 0.4.2.0 update, near the date I had joined, and the 0.5.0 update in December, and I didn't have a problem with it, i just waited until the next update, enjoyed the many old and new mods, and the many features of the game already has to offer. So just wait people, Please! Greatness will come your way soon.
Quick and dirty English lesson. Complaining is negative. It's when you talk about how you are unhappy about something. I was saying that you (and others) were annoyed that you had to wait for a long time between updates. And I was indirectly saying that everyone should wait for good stuff to come, rather than be annoyed by the long delay between updates.
Ok I'm gonna think it's safe to say, that they may have a tow truck in the works for the d series? I noticed, in the custom bindings section, that there were bindings for a boom and what not. What ever it is though is gonna be epic! I look forward to all of the updates. Whether they happen soon or not, I think it's alright to say that good things come to those that wait. I know I certainly have the paitence.
I feel like this new update with the differentials will absolutely destroy all past mods, everything will be outdated because a crucial component of the car will no longer be compatible. Like the pressurewheels.
What we do know so far: - Next update will be 0.7.2, (as opposed to, say, 0.8) - The new "powertrain" system is almost guaranteed to be present - All the official vehicles are almost guaranteed to feature the new system - The new system is definitely backwards compatible with the old system
And the mods maybe doomed in the next update...hopefully the old system can work after the update (like scalenodes did)
Even though mods being wrecked by an update is bad, I find that it's a good time to clean out my mods folder and delete things I never used anyways.
I was thinking that my engine mod would be a nightmare, but then i remembered your mod pack @Djplopper. Even if the drivetrain update doesn't break the engines and transmissions in your mod, you will have a s***load of work to do. Good luck mate, you never disappoint.
From the wiki: "The combustionEngine is mainly a port of the old engine model, with the added feature of stalling/starting and ability to run backwards."
