Whenever I press the gas/brake pedal, the wheel steers left and right like it's being possessed. Please help!
    Thanks,
    -James

That's called force feedback. Just hold the steering wheel straight, it's supposed to do that. You can lower the effect or even completely turn it off if you want.

Your wheel settings could be messed up. Make sure you're using all 900 degrees in the controller settings.

Can you provide a video of it happening?

A problem I had is that the force feedback needed reversing. Try that, it might help.

Thanks, I already know what force feedback is, but the car is undrivable

I did. I was looking at my settings every day and I still can't figure out what's going on.
It steers left and right with me only pressing the gas/brake

the wheel steers left and right by itself with me only pressing gas/brake. I can't "hold the wheel straight"

Go into control and then hardware and check if the wheel axis is inverted. If it's disabled then enable it and vise versa.

You're thinking of vibration, which is different from the wheel going left and right. Normally functioning FFB would not make the wheel steer left and right just from acceleration, there is likely some other problem and your insecurity discourages people from actually trying to fix it.

It's hard to get a proper diagnosis without a video (either in-game or of the wheel itself), as your description is a bit vague.

Does it still happen when driving faster than 1mph and with a framerate higher than 30fps?

At even slower speeds that's expected.

Our cars do not simulate power steering helps, so the steering wheel will reflect the big resistance of two soft rubber wheels being pressed onto the ground by a ton of vehicle weight. It should feel much better once you start moving forward.
