Crash Description: November 15th, 1998, 9:30 PM: Driving home from a long day at work, 29 year old Michael Owens lost control of his 1997 Gavril Grand Marshal Woody on a large patch of black ice, estimated to be around one hundred and fifty square feet. After plowing through a snow bank, the automobile collided with a tree. Fortunately, Mr. Owens was wearing his seatbelt, and the airbags deployed. After calling 911, First Responders arrived in around 15 minutes, having to come from nearby Mountain Springs, Colorado.

    Parts of Car Critically Damaged:
Main engine block destroyed, front right and left wheels knocked out of alignment, and radiator damaged beyond repair.

    Estimated Repair Cost and/or Totaled:
    $4200

    Injuries (If Any):
Michael suffered a minor concussion, along with a broken rib, tibia, and fractured femur.

    Map Used: Mammoth Valley

Car(s) Used (you don't have to include authors):
Gavril Grand Marshal Woody, Grand Marshal Police, H45 Ambulance

    Aftermath (lawsuit etc):
It was discovered that the ABS on Michael's Grand Marshal had failed. As a result, Michael's family sued Gavril Motors, inc. A Gavril spokesman argued that it was impossible for the ABS on the 1994-1999 Grand Marshal to fail, and that the crash must have been deliberate, in an attempt to collect an estimated $45000 in insurance money. When crash investigators simulated a crash identical to Michael's, with identical visibility and road conditions, garnering similar results to the accident, the Colorado State Supreme Court ruled in favor of the Owens family. After Michael's recovery, he personally sued Gavril Motors, inc, for $1'000'000 in both hospital fees, and damages. This suit was settled out of court, with Michael receiving a quarter of his original demand.

Crash Description: July 19, 1992. In one of the most symbolic images in all of Motorsport, at the 1992 36 Hours of Beam, the BeamBeer #4 ETK I-Series driven by 26 year old Kurt Schmidt collided with the wall at the Widowmaker, otherwise known as Turn 5. Not long after, the Dreid #8 ETK I-Series driven by 22 year old Allan Patton collided with Schmidt's car, moments after the end of the race. Despite this, Eduardo Mussolini, a legend of the sport, jumped into his #314 Civetta Bolide, and aided with the recovery of Schmidt and Patton, even ferrying the two to the recovery tent. Ironically, this event was intended to be a send off, not only to Mussolini, who was retiring, but the Bolide, which had celebrated a long and illustrious career, spanning 13 years from 1979 in its original, prototype form, to 1992, the year of the race. Mussolini, then aged 54, hadn't originally intended on joining the race that day, but after hearing that it would be the Bolide's last, he opted to drive that day.

Map & Vehicles Used: Civetta Bolide Group 4, ETK Race (Race livery), ETK Race (Rally livery)

    Parts of Car Critically Damaged
: Grey ETK totalled, Dreid ETK totalled, Bolide undamaged

Estimated Repair Cost: ETK written off (x2), $12.97 fuel cost (1992 unadjusted for inflation).

Injuries: Kurt suffered a broken pelvis, three broken ribs and a fractured vertebrae, while Allan suffered minor head trauma, a two broken bones in his leg, and a fractured kneecap. Eduardo was uninjured.

Aftermath: The 1992 36 Hours of Beam has since been regarded as the "Final Nail in The Coffin" for Group 4 racing, as it was disbanded the following year. Turn Five was redesigned after this race, with the corner being widened and the run-up lengthened, to accommodate a larger braking zone, to better ensure crashes like the one at the 1992 36 Hours would never happen again. Kurt Schmidt would make a full recovery, and return to racing for the 1995 season, this time under the Gavril Motor Racing team. Allan Patton would also return to racing that year, remaining with Dreid. Tragically, that year would be the end for Allan Patton's racing career, and life, his vehicle bursting into flames just after the fourth lap at the 1995 World Gran Prix, hosted in Utah. Schmidt, his best friend, would retire the following year. Mussolini would live a modest life after leaving motorsport, passing away in his sleep aged 91.

    I'm still alive guys!

Crash Description: On lap 51 of the Barstow Cup race at Akron Speedway on March 26th, 2015, 32 year old John Forrister was in the lead draft, trying to hold off 19 year old rookie Ruben Gonzalez for 4th place. Ruben attempted a pass on the inside but Forrister tried to block. It didn't go well...

Contact was made and the #11 car of Forrister went spinning into pit road. He tried to overcorrect it but little did he know he was sliding towards the entrance to pit road. His car hit the wall that separates pit road from the rest of the track at about 160 mph. The impact had so much force the entire front end of the car was severed off and his seat broke off it's mounts. The car flipped a few times, was hit by another car, flew into the air and tumbled down the track before resting in a ball of flames in the middle of the track...

Parts of Car Critically Damaged: Too many to name....

Estimated Repair Cost and/or Totaled: Totaled (Duh...)

Injuries (If Any): John died on impact from blunt force head trauma. An autopsy showed that he had literally shattered several ribs, had one hand severed off and other very gruesome details that are NSFW.

    Map Used: Akron Speedway

Car(s) Used (you don't have to include authors): Gavril Barstow (CJD tuning)

Aftermath (lawsuit etc): The race was stopped immediately and after a 1 hour red flag, the officials decided to end the race, meaning the #00 car of Harrison Smith (Yes, the same one from one of the crashes on page 1) would win.
