Steam has been causing a lot of problems on my PC. It updates so often and takes up loads of storage.
So, can I uninstall it but keep BNG and my profile?
If so, would this cause any major problems?
    Thanks :):)

I think you should put it to Offline Mode, and after that copy Beam NG where you want. It should be okay, but you will can't update BeamNG.

    No.

Also Steam takes up about half a gigabyte, while BeamNG takes up 5 gb. The folder size may say a lot more, buts it's misleading because the games are installed in the steam folder. So why uninstall steam. It uses much less space than steam.

It's possible, but then you wouldn't be able to update beamng drive anymore...

You can, but Steam is needed to download the game and update it.

Go to Steam/Steamapps/common and move the BeamNG.drive folder somewhere safe.
    Now you can uninstall Steam.
And you will be stuck with the same version until you reinstall Steam.

From my experience, you can't run any Steam games outside the Steam folder or else there are DLLs in the game folder that think you are illegally copying the game for other people.

BeamNG.Drive is not one of those.

    Confirmed.

I sincerely hate Steam, so I've been running the game without Steam since purchase.

I only run Steam when I need to update the game, copy the updated game folder on my NAS, forget about Steam for the next few weeks.

True. Beamng is the only game that I can run via a shortcut on the desktop without logging into steam. Feeds my laziness:p
But why is it made like this though? Isn't it easier to copy the game into more copies to illegally distribute or am I forgetting something?

*Personal Opinion incoming* More power to the user? Not having your copy of a game locked behind a DRM is a good thing I guess.
