Same. Last year I could hardly hear them in my school and now they're a very loud annoying deep buzzing sound
The lesson change over thingy is actually louder than the fire alarm. We don't have a bell, the thing on the ceiling looks exactly like the fire beeper.
Hmm. I see more rain coming through my area. It seems much less severe -- and while I was typing that, I heard the LOUDEST F'N lightning strike. How nice. As I was saying, the rain seems much less severe, fortunately.
Ours was a government grant - our buildings were built in the 60s and were only meant to be temporary, so we kinda needed it. We're not in a particularly rich area.
My college /school has put up a rickety plasterboard building, which everyone seems to call the portaloo building.the whole building shakes at even the lightest wind
Whenever my school does lockdown drills, the principal comes on the PA and says this line over and over again while alarms are beeping. "ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS, WE ARE NOW IN FULL LOCKDOWN. TEACHERS, PLEASE LOCK DOWN ALL CLASSROOMS." And us students have to do the following: Cover the windows in the doors if there are any. Shut off all the lights Hide out of sight. Stay off of all gadgets. Wait quietly until principal lifts drill.
Is this incase of a school shooting or something, never had to bother about anything like that at our school in uk
I have only ever had fire drills. In the UK gun crime isn't really a factor and I can't think of any major school incidents that have happened in my life time (not that I follow the news super close so maybe there has been something), occasionally there are fights between two students that may get escalated to a knife fight in rougher areas, I am pretty sure I have seen at least one news story before about students stabbing each other. But people usually take those things outside of school. Occasionally certain paths were made out of bounds due to heavy rain fall, sometimes we got snow and school was shut for a day or two, that's about as exiting as things got weather wise.
i guess there was a sort of lockdown in my school, there was a BIG fight with the school over the field and the dividing fence was destroyed, they brought everyone in and we werent allowed out, then the principal gave us all an assembly and she mentioned something about Clowns (remember that) and the whole school uniformly laughs with the Principal trying her best to calm the school. Its hilarious Never even heard of any gun crimes in UK. Weather is appauling and boring in the UK, no snow, just rain and rain and rain. No real wind , not even enough wind for a small 99p shop kite to fly. Its not particularly cold, but the rain makes it seem cold.
Quite a few gun killings in Birmingham last year all with vintage weapons, but no where near as much as USA. --- Post updated --- Also about a mile from my house some gypsies had a shootout, no one was hit because of their terrible aim because no one gets training
