Overwriting

I actually tried to overwrite an official car I don't drive, namely the Sunburst, by unpacking a mod(The S-series) and renaming it's file under the vehicle folder as "sunburst", but it just made the S-series disappear and the sunburst remained. I want to know how to overwrite an official car, as I know it is possible. I also tried with the 200BX, by renaming the 200LX, a mod, and now there are two 200BX's.

Why do you want to "Overwrite" the car ?
Well
A much easier way to get rid of an official car is just delete it from the content folder.. As with the S-Series. Because it´s a "MOD" just drop it in the Mods folder in Documents>BeamNG.drive>Mods
It is like "Replacing" but a lot simpler

 

I've tried deleting official cars, but I can't. How do I?

 

Go to steam directory of the game: Content>Vehicles> sunburst.zip
Just delete it.
Then you have to check your documents>BeamNG.drive>vehicles and delete the sunburst folder too

 

What is the steam directory?

 

Do you even know how to use the File explorer to locate files?

 

It´s where your game is saved.
Go to steam.
Right click on BeamNG>Properties>Local Files>Search local files
Then you are in the directory of the game
Got to Content>Vehicles and delete Sunburst.zip

So you saying that you want to delete an official vehicle and this another dude is helping you to do so.

I have so many questions. But mainly: why?? Why on earth?? What makes you think that's a good idea? What?
