Mythbuster, do you mind showing the uv layout for your tire? I'm having a hard time figuring out how to go about uv mapping mine.
Sure: I created the tread as a straight piece, rather than round, and gave the part that wasn't tread enough subdivisions for a full circle(in my case, to make the tread work, 34 segments I believe, because there's one bit in the tread that's 5 segments long, that repeats 7 times, and one segment ended up overlapping). From there, I UV'ed it with the automatic UV-tool, which I then edited so it's nice and neat like that^. The non-tread part of the tire is UV'ed onto 2 bits of UV-space of 5-rows, which allows me to put some diversity in the dirt on the tire later. That's also why I have the center thread-blocks UV'ed into 8 different pieces. I then made a tube with the same dimensions as the tire, and the same amount of segments, then used a lattice deformer to change the lattice deformer(and thus the straight tire-tread) into a full circle. UV'ing it when it's already circular is nearly impossible I think. I've tried that before but with Mayas UV-tools it just doesn't give anything useful. Also, @ Deewad: I think the body itself probably could've been made in like, 2 / 2.5 hours(after you've got the blueprints set up), but I usually spend lots and lots of times making tiny changes as I go. The rest of this thing was way more work to design it in a way that would work in real life though(Dennis and Dkutch helped with that)...
I wonder what this could be, perhaps a sequel to my rigs of rods rally car? Either way it will probably endure the same never finished state of development
There are soooo many random props I gotta model for this thing... Axe, shovel, fuel tanks, straps, bonnet latches, bolts... Will be worth it though! Loving how simple and minimalistic everything was on the stock Jeep, especially the seats are geniusly simple(still learning a lot about these things as I find more reference).
Do you plan to have the props fall off when in a collision, Kinda like how hubcaps go flying, And bumpers fall off?
@Above: Probably not fall off, but I'll try to make some bits jiggle around as you drive So yeah.. This happened.... EDIT@Below: Yep My beloved real life car.
Very nice! I loved that Ibiza in Rigs of Rods, happy to see it being ported to BeamNG. I'm assuming you're planning on releasing it at some point... - - - Updated - - - Yes, it's the '95 Seat Ibiza he made for RoR. Unless he made a car that looks almost exactly the same for BeamNG... ----- Oh, also wanted to mention, guys: I've got a possible project coming up. Here's a hint: Baja DeLuxe (don't look that up on Google, by the way, as it won't show any relevant results)
What is up with the textures? I mean its not like that in Ror. And that's my favorite car in ror, I'm happy that he has it in BNG as of now!
Wtf? They're 100% the same texture files as in RoR. Litterally just copy-pasted them over from the RoR zip file. Only thing different is that it hasn't got reflections... Unless you mean the missing bodypanels... But I hope not... Also, @ Fastclassic: Yeah, it'll probably get a release once it's done. Needs some major fixing work though so I can't promise how soon because I don't know how long it'll hold my interest for. Kinda want to finish the Jeep as soon as possible too...
I was referring to how the the quality of the textures were, I didn't think the textures were kinda bad in quality. They looked better in "res" in Ror. But from what I can see, they look fine, I didn't remember the textures.
Oh man, you and mythbuster sell dream, thanks a lot for your amazing works. At last, we will got the Seat, **** yeah!
