1.0 isnt the next logical progression from 0.9 in software versioning. That is not a decimal number. Its not 9 10ths of 1. it might be better written as major version 0, minor version 9, revision 0. It can become 0.10 and 0.11, even 0.42 before it ever hits 1.0.
Microsoft office is something like 1702 (might be already higher) and it does not make it to be feature complete or even bug free gold version. However traditionally it was 1.0 that was out of beta, being feature complete version put on market, any number above 1.0 was then considered bit embarrassing at it meant there was bugs that should of been there, so for developers it was matter of pride to be able to produce software that did not need to go above 1.0. 0.X was big changes and major new features, while 0.X.X versions had fixes mostly and minor new features. Of course that was at old days, then came windows, it was ok to ship software in incomplete state and patch it poorly afterwards etc. These days nobody really cares, at some houses first internal build starts from 1, so first alpha testing might be already in hundreds or thousands. Alpha did use to mean that it will get new features, while beta meant all features are there, only bugs are fixed and minor things might get added. So you then have to make a guess if BeamNG devs follow traditional or modern version numbering.
Has anybody seen the D-Series tow truck mesh hiding in the vehicles files? I spotted it a couple days after 0.8 was released and suprisingly still haven't seen anybody post about it in here.
I just looked at it in Blender. I look forward to it being implanted into the game. I wonder what the chances are of it being a 0.9 feature alongside the Hopper and the Crew Cab.
Here. I knew commands already existed in game as I had seen them, but I didn't know the mesh was there as well.
Nice, I can't wait to repossess cars with that. Now we just need some gaudy rims for the Roamer, so I can hook up the tow truck, set the AI to flee mode and watch the chaos ensue.
Haven't quite followed this thread. Is there any other cars known to come to Beamng than Hopper, Wendover and Bluebuck?
What do you base that on? Ah, you're talking about the speculation that rose from the fact that there are towing orbs in the front of the cars? @Scudetto I'm pretty sure tdev mentioned that they were planning on making more trucks for the game in the future.
