The Subaru I've driven has working gauges, which I've seen a few modders having trouble with, and all the doors, hood, and trunk deform correctly and fall off as they should. It even looks like they modded the N/B to fit the shape of the car better in some places. Whats the difference between people modding the vehicle models of Gabe's cars to ridiculous proportions, and someone just throwing a different car mesh on the N/B and making it work? Honestly I'd rather have a lot of good AND bad cars to choose from (Like how RoR was) then just have like 8 nicely made cars that get quite boring after a while.

Anyway, all I'm saying is that I'm not trying to promote their site, but some of their car mods are made decently, and people shouldn't be attacked for posting a screenshot showing that they are using one. (as long as they aren't using a cracked version of the game of course)

First, I do not support those mods and I don't use them but I want to say something:

Beamng has a strange community, in every other game in the world people don't care were the mod is coming from, aslong as they have more content to use. Here you get hated to death if you try to produce content by using someone elses mesh. Ok, some are really badly made, but those people are just trying to make you extra content to have fun with and play. And I totally understand if someones mesh is used an he is mad and wants it removed, (Like in Myths Gta4 case a few days ago) but when it's coming from the dev team, that's totally fine to me aslong as they don't make something super ugly with it. They are just trying to produce content so other people have more fun playing this game.

Guys this is BeamNG and not Ror. This game will never grow if people are preventing other people to make content.
The only conseqeunce your hatings have, is that they move to there own site were the dev don't have any control.
They will never stop, and aslong as BeamNG grows there will be more of these mods.

As far as I know, thosre mods are allowed on here, aren't they?

Better convince them to make good stuff instead of chasing them away.

I am not defending those, mods I don't support them and I don't use them but why can't the beamng community jsut work like in every other community
in this world? I bet you guys all used once a gta4 car with a model from forza.

I think all this is a complete waste of time, we all here know that, that Russian has crappy cars, and their stolen, I try to stay away from sites like that and I sure as heck don't download from sites like that, the Audi that I downloaded was indeed crap! The suspension was crap, the steering was crap, the interior was crap, there was not a thing good about it, well maybe the fact that it deforms, wait, not even that, cause it was stolen. The lambo they have, it was Sam's Jbeam Mod, they used Sam's base for almost EVERY car for BNG. I myself tell everyone to stay away from those sites cause I have nothing to do with them.

So I advise people not to waste their time to go to sites like these. And not to waste their time downloading them, it takes forever to download one car. So all in all I think this is a waste of time talking about it.

And I WILL not support mods like these and site like these

People here don't get hated to death, they only get hated if they steel someone's else mesh and not given credit to the creator. And we don't know 100% if "they" make content for us to quote "play" with. They stole MANY Jbeams, and bases from members here, if they wanted use to quote "play"with, then they would at least give full credit to the creator!

And maybe if they give full credit, then we will give them engorgement.

Well, tell them, give them and infraction so they learn. And than ban them if they still don't do it.
But keep the good guys on here even if they may not give credit the first time.

    They got leaked.
The only reason you are finding the Subaru so easy to drive is because it has 4 wheel drive. That's it. It is the exact same jbeam as the Grand Marshmallow.

Not really. EVERY other car I've driven that's 4WD cant handle the corners on my hillclimb track. (Besides the trophy truck mod, that truck is NICE) I also drive with a controller. I've even driven 4WD mods of the GM and it didn't handle as good as the Subaru does. I don't know what they did to it, but they did a good job....now only if they learned to fix the smoothing on the mesh.

"They *even* modded the n/b to the shape of the vehicle"... God... I don't even know where to start with this... Whoop-dee-effing-doo..... We should be so glad that they took 10 minutes out of their lives to change a few values so the n/b sits better around a mesh they didn't even make...

If you don't mod the n/b, it's gonna be an attrocious port. The end.
If you don't modify the suspension geometry, you might as well be playing Need for Speed because it means the entire handling of the car is completely and utterly faked.

And I can guarantee that that Subaru does NOT have correct Subaru suspension geometry, because none of those Russian pricks seem to have the first clue on how a real car is built... I can almost guarantee that that Subaru which handles soooo well still runs a solid rear axle and handles terribly. Dkutch spent about a month to convert the Grand Marshal n/b for Nadeox's BMW, and then me and him spent at least 2 weeks converting it *again* with a Mitsubishi Evo 9 mesh from Dirt(which we never finished)... Those Russians pump out a new car at least every week... You can't just convert a body-on-frame full-size American sedan with a solid rear axle into a high performance awd unibody Japanese sports sedan with multilink suspension in that amount of time... There's just no way they've made a proper quality car.

We've tried keeping them on here as long as they give credits, but some people just do not care, and guess what? Those people are always the Russian guys from that one site. 99% of the guys from that site just don't give a damn what anyone tells them. One guy made like 4 racetracks, kept claiming he made them himself, even though they were ported from another game. 4th time he still didn't credit the original game it was from.

The fact that you think it's great doesn't mean it actually is a good mod. Many people on here are so happy when someone does a poorly made mod, using a mesh from another game, plonked straight on top of Gabe's n/b, just because it looks different. People called my very first Ibiza version for RoR "great", and looking back now, that was complete and utter crap. Why should I think you're any different? I'd love to be proven wrong if you PM the link, but I really doubt it's any better than the stupid BMW 538(or whatever) using my Audi 80 n/b, which was "meh, it kinda sucks" at very best...

If people only did quality mods, I'd not care at all if someone used my stuff(if they credited), but honestly, what most of them do is the equivalent of molesting my child when they mod my cars...

And after this very long post, I'd like you all to go back on topic. This discussion has been held over and over, both here and on RoR, and it's just a plain fact that all the cars those guys do are "Meh, it's better than their other crap, I guess, but it still sucks" at VERY best.

If you wanna contribute to this discussion some more, at least make sure you post a picture :)

Well, I can't be the only one that tells them. And what do you mean by "Keep the good guys on here"?

But it drives like arse. Give the Marshall more torque, 4 wheel drive, and a slightly shorter wheelbase and there you go.
    Screenshot for thread redemption.

    That... probably won't buff out...
Also, @Holland and Kimmykix above, I said post pictures now...

If you don't care if a car is realistic, you should go and play NFS/Forza/Gran Turismo. This game engine is completely useless to you if you don't care about realism.

And that's what they did, and it works well, and drives amazingly!

I'm actually quite a fan of Forza and NFS (The older titles) This game engine however is NOT useless to me, since I love good crash physics, and I'm a big content creator for this game, and love easy mod-ability.

Also, since you want a screenshot, I think this one is quite relevant:

Finally found out how to change FOV thanks to nadeox. It makes every at least 2 times better, <3 FOV.

Also a small private unlisted test :p It's crappy but was only a quick test and not a final video so ... :)
