While we're at it, what would drive most like a Moonhawk?

Slammington's thread inspired me to ask this. It's probably stupid considering some things (*cough*PotatoCantRunBNGD*cough*), but... what, in real life, would behave most like a Moonhawk while being built in 1975 or earlier? Chevy Chevelle? Chevy Laguna? Olds Cutlass?

That's what I heard, but do they drive anything alike is what I'm wondering. I've got something kicking around in my mind and it requires something that both looks and drives roughly like a pre-facelift Moonhawk while not being beholden to the Sacred Catalytic Converter.

 

I would say my 1976 Malibu Classic drives very much like the Moonhawk. Nice to drive around town, lots of torque in the low end, but not much go in the upper end.

It's also just as terrifying to drive at 85-90 MPH!

 

I'd say 1977 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu. Even the pre-facelift models match the pre-facelift Chevelle.

Anything on the GM A-Body from 73-77 would be similar.

 

Well, the criteria would be double wishbone front, solid axle rear (on coils of course), front heavy weight distribution (which makes the handling very predictable), ultra soft suspension and not a whole lot of power. Being a european I wouldn't have much experience with these cars, but I'd place my bets on a chevelle or camaro maybe.

 

...or a powerboat.

 

I think it would drive like the 1977 Dodge Monaco Coupe and the 1975 Dodge Coronet
