THIS MOD IS NOT MINE @Mythbuster IS THE AUTHOR AND GAVE ME PERMISSION TO RE-UPLOAD THIS. Video by myself @CaptanW Thanks for the 2nd trailer @Insanegaz The HellJeep was one of the first mods made for beamng.drive (late 2013). I just made this old mod work with the current version of beamng by adding thumbnails, repacking, info.json files. Images: Link to the original forum post back in 2013 (http://www.beamng.com/threads/helljeep-custom-bajajeep-crawler.5756/) Text from the original forum post below...... "The general idea is based on the RoadKill rat rod Jeep and the zero-f**ks-given-Rx7 that was featured on /Drive. What would happen if the creator of that Rx7 built a custom crawler/baja jeep frame and put a body on it that's dragged straight from the nearest field. Specs/data: Engine: Chevy 350 smallblock with a billion miles on it, custom bodged headers and no aircleaner(because why would you...), and animated carburetor Transmission: THM350(aka Turbo350) 3-speed automatic(with manual shifter) Transfercases: Dana300 coupled to an NP241 doubler(so 2 transfer cases combined!), which results in 7 forward gears and 3 reverse gears(because I left out a few gears when they were too similar or not useful enough) Axles: Dana60s. Eventually the driveshafts will be animated, this will only start working for you guys when the Race update has been released. Wheels: 37" Irok tires wrapped around widened 16" HMMWV(Humvee/Hummer H1) rims Body: early 1942 Willys MB. Front fenders are raised and rear wheelarches cut to allow more flex with bigger wheels. Windowframe is chopped for extra gangster-lean. The black-out lights all work properly(as low beams) and all the body/accessory parts you'd expect to move in real life, move in-game too. As far as possible, the invidividual pieces of the car all have their real weight(transfercase, axles, fenders, hood etcetera). Many thanks to anyone who helped "alpha-testing" this, especially Dkutch and Dennis-W. Also thanks to Dennis-W for letting me almost straight-up "copy" his Dana60 axles and re-tuning my suspension. " @Mythbuster did give me permission to re-upload this to the mods page. Credits: @CaptanW - Repack, Thumbnails, info.json files, making it work in the latest version @Mythbuster - The original mod author of everything else, letting me reupload this @Dennis-W - The axels My great mod group helping me along. DO NOT REUPLOAD!!!!! UPDATED FILE BELOW
Y'know, if you're in the business of revamping old mods, I'd be interested in a remake of the '94 Grand Cherokee that dkutch made way back when. It'd be fitting to see along side the HellJeep. Great work thus far!
haha, iv already done that mod, i have it done but dont have permission to upload the remake yet. here is the teaser for that one.
That's the best thing I've seen all day, hands down. You sir, I applaud. Best of luck to you getting permission, he seems to have been vacant from the forums lately.
Has the weird "glitch" been fixed with the drivetrain? I'm talking about where when you put it in gear ( any gear) with 0 throttle and little clutch to the clutch being engaged entirely the wheels would sort of rotate as if power was being applied but the speed of the wheels wasn't linear and it would cause the tires to pop & or the axles to break whenever you applied any throttle. I don't know if any better way to explain it but I think some others have dealt with this with the old version of the mod along with other mods such as the DW rock crawler & rock bouncer.
Not sure if this is going to be helpful or if it is just me being a moron, but it seems to always want to pull to the right ever so slightly. Just thought I'd bring that up, in case it is a legitimate bug. Additionally, and I know I'll probably get a lot of flak for this, but could there be a variant with normal wheels and suspension if there isn't already(didnt do any part changing yet)? Just a normal jeep would be a nice little trinket to have, though I'd still probably wind up taking the helljeep itself out more. Not sure if you even can do that, given the mod wasn't yours originally, but it could be something to look into.
the suspension is an off-road one. Its more built for more EXTREME off-roading not for driving on the road. But its so loose that it does pull to one side. I'm not able to make a road version because I'm not that good at mudding but I can edit some of the suspension files and see what I can come up with.
What is the point in telling people that these mods end up on those sites? Literally, whats the point.... Its just annoying. No duh, every single mod ever made has ended up on those sites. Its not new information, its not surprising. Hell, the forums are open, people dont even have to own the game to get mods. We know that a mod will end up there. No need to mention it, ever again. Anybody. Just stop talking about those sites. Stahp.
