ScottieNiven submitted a new resource: Complete sound mod for all vehicles - New engine sounds for all official vehicles Read more about this resource...
I think that you need to improve the low end sounds, especially the one for the newer pessima, and the moon hawk sounds like a massive diesel engine.
Give you a suggestion, the engine sound is too small in the game, because the game in addition to the sound of the engine, there are other noise. Hope you can improve. --- Post updated --- The game's Gavril H-Series prototype is the Ford E-Series, can not use the Caddy engine sound --- Post updated --- The Gavril Roamer prototype in the game is Ford explorer, can not use the Chevy G20 engine sound
Hello all! ajc918 From the sources I'm using, low end sounds are quite hard to achieve, I do agree they could be better, but most videos are of accelerations with shifting from 4-5K onwards, thus making low end sounds hard. But I will try and create them in newer versions. The moonhawk was pulled from a Chevy Chevelle video, sounds fine to me personally, it was pulled from this video at about 1:30. wangyiming721 I have this issue too, for some reason I cannot increase the volume any more than current, if I increase the volume modifier, is gets to a point where it wont get any louder. I'm still trying! I'm not familiar with american cars, so some of the sounds will not be accurate! I'm just referencing what I know in real life and adding them. To me, a van should sound like a diesel 4cyl, not a V8! I hope you understand where I'm coming from. But if people wish, I can change it. Plus its quite hard to find good samples of acceleration of the old american cars/vans. If you could find a good video of someone accelerating from a stand still in a video of the car in question, ill try and add it! But again, I will be improving over time as I find better audio. I could change the G20 to the H-Series since its a similar van.
It sounds very good only some engines just seem a little to quite, I love the new Grand Marshall sound it sounds like a proper crown vic but when I speed up I only hear tire roll and I would like to hear of the lovely engine sounds! Same story with the ETK800 Could you maybe make them a bit louder?
This is an issue I have as well, something is not quite right with the volume modifiers, I also use a quieter wind noise to its not as bad, but I'm working to fix this!
Going above 1.0 volume modifier is not increasing volume, it just bugs out sound system so that it plays constantly at 1.0 volume, which means when you put throttle down, it does not get louder and that then gives illusion of sound being quieter than it is as ear adapts to loud volume straight from beginning. Chevelle video is challenging source as it is taken with video camera, which means it has automatic volume leveling, also mic position etc. causes engine note to disappear into other noises quite a bit at higher revs, that is why lower end of frequency band disappears at higher rpm, so only way to get good sample is preferably more than 1 microphone and laptop + audacity, anything recorded with video camera can't be really good, so considering that I would say you have done good job, one can't except hifi quality sounds from such source material, it is only so much anyone can do with sounds taken from videos. Try EQ in Audacity and try to cut out some unneeded frequencies, that might allow you to amplify sample bit more without clipping. Update: Also you can somewhat add bass in EQ to sample if that is needed, just make sure you are not even near clipping when you do that as it will clip if there is no room for growth, I have used amplify tool to make sample more quiet, then added bass sometimes to get sample to sound stronger. With some samples in this mod, idle is quite heavy on bass, I think one of Pessimas was like that, but then again I have 2.1 system with amplifier, 2x 8" bass drivers + 1x12" subwoofer are taking care of decent low end playback, stuff moves around on shelves
I have two car sounds I really like. If I use this, will it overwrite the others? edit: I down loaded it and it would not work for me. I reset the cache and it still did not work.
i need help, i have a sound mod that replaces the sound for the ETK C and I want to make a copy of it that replaces the sound for the ETK 800 and ETK S too. I'll attach the file so you can see what I mean..
Thank you for the advice, Ill be working on the volume issues very soon, I need to put back the original wind noise of the game then start editing the audio. Your advice will definitely be useful! All the vehicles (except 200BX and Covet) are using sounds from similar style videos! So I will never be able to get the quality as good as proper recordings, but I will be trying to clean up the audio as best as possible for the next version. So far I have found removing the bass allows for me to have higher overall volume for some of the engine types. I will fiddle around with it more as I get more practice. Idle is quite heavy as the volume is very boosted so its even audible in the game! I'm also only using 4" Studio monitors with no subwoofer, so the bass is not as strong! --- Post updated --- In this situation, use BeamNG's mod manager to unpack my sound pack, then go into the unpacked folder and delete the folders relating to the other cars which you are using different packs from, this will stop mine from overwriting the others Hope this helps!
I dont know exactly what the volume modifier is but im assuming its a setting in the beamng files. Can't you simply increase the gain of each sound file instead? Btw I love this mod the sounds are just too quiet for me too.
In this situation, use BeamNG's mod manager to unpack my sound pack, then go into the unpacked folder and delete the folders relating to the other cars which you are using different packs from, this will stop mine from overwr Thank you! My issue is the audio files are nearly clipping already in terms of raw volume, if you play the files on their own, they are loud, you can check this yourself! I need to start removing frequency's from the audio to make the engine sound more pronounced, then it will sound louder in the game!
I made it myself quite a while ago and install it as a mod, ill upload 2 zip files, one with no wind noise and one with quieter wind for anyone to use. Just add it to the mods folder and away you go!
