A Calculator Fanboy submitted a new resource: Miranik 100 - A cheap and awful Soviet Miramar Clone Read more about this resource...
I don't know why you thought this was realistic enough to mention USSR in the description. 1. USSR never really copied 1/1 other cars. Only the Fiat 124 and Lada 2101, but it was under a license and the Lada received a better engine- OHC vs OHV, reworked suspension and some other minor changes- hydraulic clutch, thicker steel panels. There are more than 800 differences. 2. Their cars weren't that unreliable- it was just individual parts that were engineered poorly- the carburettors were absolute shit, change it with a weber and the car becomes much more responsive. 3. You could choose a color.
Actually, Soviet cars had very nice paint options- green, red, yellow ,orange, blue, cream etc. Not like modern Western cars that have red, white, black and 8 shades of grey and silver. And what is Deshevo Motory- cheap engines??? Moderators should really look what they let through.
I rear ended a lada once. I left with a broken bumper and the lada left with its rear passengers stuck in the back
Actually, the mod isn't so bad as a mod, but it is just an insult to Soviet automotive industry. If you want to fix something, then: 1. Add better engine 2. Add other colors 3. Add heavy-duty suspension (russian roads are pretty rough) 4. Add adequate name 5. Add badging 6. Add custom interior I guess most of the above are far beyond your modding abilities, but you asked.
Also, I inspired and this is the more likely it should look like. I used the stock engine and LHD Miramar Mod, I did change the stock differential with the auto gearbox's differential. It just fits nicely. I did a couple scenes for some shots with this idea. Also, I did a KGB variant with 1.9 liter engine, 5 speed gearbox, limited slip diffrential, full black paintjob, front disc brakes, sport heavy duty suspension. KGB cars generally had better specs like V8 engines.(At least in Volga.) Many different models can be here. 65-70's Miranik (name can be like Mirada : Miramar + Lada = Mirada) With round stock miramar styling. 60-70's police kgb version. 80-90's miramar with square rear and front fascia design, the police and kgb versions. Normal cars could have 1400-1500cc 4 cyl - 4 speed manual for 60-70's 1600 cc for police and 1900cc for the kgb cars. 80's cars have 1500cc 4 cyl 4 speed manual for low trim. high trim will have 1600cc 5 speed manual. Police cars have 1600cc 5 speed with better carburater. KGB will have 2 liter or 1900cc 4 cyl engine and 5 speed manual or 4 speed automatic. For the 80's model you can steal the Bruckell LeGran's old steering wheel (the normal one, not the airbag one) And, plastic trim and bumpers for the 80's model of course. And, for last you need to convert the car to left hand drive for realism. And, russian plates would be great (police, kgb, civilian, etc.etc.) Maybe some station wagon versions if you want to improve. You can get a lot of inspiration from Lada Riva (Lada 2100 series it goes like 2103 2107 i dont remember all.) And sorry for my bad english. I tryed to tell in my mind.
