Re: Folding @ Home, Seti @ Home and other DC projects. Even with the slight bottleneck the 290 is still by FAR the better buy. 1156 can still hold its own these days. You will still get much better fps with a 290, just maybe not the max possible.
Re: Folding @ Home, Seti @ Home and other DC projects. Farewell HEMI. D: Anyways, with the computer acting as my heater, I fold 24/7. I passed 100k! Woo!
Re: Folding @ Home, Seti @ Home and other DC projects. Farewell Hemi? Nice, I just passed 1.5 million
Re: Folding @ Home, Seti @ Home and other DC projects. Yeah, now that the ROR team is back up he seems to be back there. I just hit bonus PPD with my last WU, I seem to be getting 305k ppd.
Re: Folding @ Home, Seti @ Home and other DC projects. It was a glitch, before it has proper data to average out what it projects your ppd to be it can give some pretty insane numbers.
Re: Folding @ Home, Seti @ Home and other DC projects. Aw. D: I need to find something that can give me 305k ppd for $120.
Re: Folding @ Home, Seti @ Home and other DC projects. What's that? EDIT; That would beat out the ror team.
Re: Folding @ Home, Seti @ Home and other DC projects. 4p=4 processors. So like 4 AMD opterons running Ubunto. It supposedly can get like 1 million ppd if done correctly.
Re: Folding @ Home, Seti @ Home and other DC projects. And other diseases. You can choose which one to research for if you'd like. I just let it pick.
Re: Folding @ Home, Seti @ Home and other DC projects. I haven't folded in a while.. I'll try to set up my laptop or desktop to fold before school tomorrow.
Re: Folding @ Home, Seti @ Home and other DC projects. I was just looking at the stats, and we have a fairly large group of folders here! My 7770 officially bit the dust, looking at a 280x. If I can get a refund instead of a new 7770. :/
Re: Folding @ Home, Seti @ Home and other DC projects. Go 290 once non-reference coolers are released. Got some insane price/performance.
Re: Folding @ Home, Seti @ Home and other DC projects. They actually do worse once double precision is added in, because F@H doesn't know how to handle them yet, but that is fixable. The main issue is the fact that I only have a 550w PSU and $339.
Re: Folding @ Home, Seti @ Home and other DC projects. do you have another psu laying around by any chance? you could def run a 2 psu setup. lol
Re: Folding @ Home, Seti @ Home and other DC projects. Thats not to say the card is worse for DP. Titan sucked before it had properly been added. Also if you had a quality 550w psu it would still be enough. 255w+ the rest of your system. That's not factoring in efficiency either.
