Unfortunately not everyone is nice of course, and its inevitable that nasty/rude people join too. We just have to try to keep everything friendly and civilised, and that's all we can do really.
We can all agree that this forum is WAY better that the Rigs of Rods forums. Everyone acts like they are 12 years old. This forum will have its ups and downs but that doesn't mean that WE as a community are not a failure. Yet, like the game, will his a walk every now and then. But let's work together and not be so hostile! Peace and Love!!!!!
I totally agree. Especially a couple years ago, even the moderators acted like 12 years old. Too bad I did not know about RoR until 2014/2015 and BeamNG until 2015. I can imagine how much better these communities were in the first few years of existence.
You are not wrong, it was better before, but did it not cross your mind that maybe you and the people likes of you were the ones responsible for this.
That isn't an excuse for the way the RoR forums have gone downhill so greatly though, no offense but that really sounds like someone letting their car get stolen by leaving it unlocked in a bad neighbourhood, and then complaining about it and accepting no responsibility. I'd say the RoR forums died because of a combination of both, poor moderating and annoying users, not to mention it isn't that easy for beginners.
After BeamNG, I find that ROR went downhill, because of graphics and the forum is confusing, here it's easy to use.
What makes you say that? I treat everyone equally and have not disrespected anyone on this forum. Neither have I cussed even once. Additionally, you and your friends were the ones that somehow got a picture of me and made fun of it, including chris_lucas making a disrespectful meme out of it and people like Funky7Monkey saying things like "Nice slappable face" and the like, then editing it to be sarcastically sorry when a moderator stepped in. Then he eventually deleted it. And also we have stuff like this from your other friends on Beam related Discord servers Nobody's perfect, but you and your friends took this kind of crap to a whole new level.
On the bright side I've seen quite a few forumers come in here as immature twats and slowly mature to levels that are respectable. That is always nice to see and shows this community as a whole is in good shape.
You're a bible basher and strongly anti swearing on the internet. Its just like troll bait through and through, nothing to do with you disrespecting anyone or whatever.
Bible basher as in pro-Bible? If so, you're completely correct. And it's just what I believe, not trying to anger anyone or troll anyone.
I will admit, I was kind of immature two years ago, but I remember getting a couple warnings for nothing, like posting a RoR video in the general discussion forum (or was it the media subforum, idk). And there were a few other idiots there that have been harassing me here also.
As for the forum going down hill, when Tdev & Co began pursuing interests with BeamNG, moderation began to disappear. Stoat was the only one who stayed active as an invited member to moderate, but even he had a life. The forum turned into non-stop flaming and got daily hardcore porn posts. Tdev made me a moderator to clean it up. If you werent around before I took over moderation, you won't understand why we're so strict. Theres a reason we have the rules we do. --- Post updated --- Gig, there is no penalty to warnings. They served to inform you of the rules. You chose to throw a temper tantrum every time.
I think that science and logic would solve lot of things. And yes, I do have long pointy ears as you can see
I quite remember that era too. Was nice while it lasted. It's a problem with growth, but the modding scene is dead. Dkutch, Mythbuster etc. I'm wondering if DrowsySam is still alive. There's not much in the way of work to praise. I suspect it's the reason the devs suddenly actively trying to encourage modding. So what we have left are many conversations and topics nobody is interested in, and assholes will take as an excuse to cause problems. I watched certain people for the content updates and I engaged properly back when they made stuff. Now it's zappymouse talking about what he did to his car today. Thats nice and all, but it's not a mod for me to look forward to. It's not Mythbuster with an overhaul of his Cadillac, it's not Dkutch with his amazing suspension and a nifty new vehicle of some sort. It's not you with an aerodynamically correct F1 car or some other madenningly clever twist on the game's physics engine. It's not VeyronEB with an Audi he's worked hard on. Credit to NinetyNine, he did it well but a facelift of an ETK is only really an asthetic mod and doesn't add a lot. There's not a lot for me to say these days other than "RP threads are cancer, please stop". The last time I got to say "Oh wow, exquisite work" for a mod was when Goosah made that old toyota. His own jbeam and model. Not a new model on an existing jbeam, but something that had it's own unique physical characteristics. If the modding scene comes back, the community might refocus again. Who knows. But we've lost the heavy hitters who could really lay some of that experienced quality into their work. Gabester's even stopped regularly showing off his content and we're getting to the end of a list of vehicle designs with no new batch of shells to look forward to. things pop up occasionally in an update and there's hype for a brief period with a long cooldown. But the engagement from seeing things develop on the official side has sort of died beyond the micro blog thread. Remember the build up to the 200BX? some info coming out now and again made it exciting for a couple of months and we all celebrated it's release. The LeGran's reception was warm, but didn't have time to brew up like they used to. So there's not much to chat about. thankfully LJFHutch is showing off his progress and I love that. There is that Satsuma mod though, I'll have to try it out.
Remember how the K-series and SBR4 were not even known about until the day of the update? We will probably see many more vehicles appear that way.
