    It's a V6. 210hp/240lbs-ft.

My Grand Marquis makes closer to 300lbsft. I think it's around 295lbsft.

In all honesty, it really is enough. You don't need too much power to have fun if you know how to use what you have.

These small numbers are depressing me.

So let me tell you all a story about a mud truck that a good friend's uncle built around 1997 or 1998, with lots, and lots, of money.

He wanted to have something that could run in the unlimited class, and be able to drive around town with.
He started with a 68 3/4 ton 4wd Chevy, put a 6:13 geared Dana 80 under the rear, and a 6:13 Dana 60 under the front.
It didn't have but maybe 5-6 inches of lift, only enough to clear the 38's.

The important part was a 710 cubic inch "big block Chevy" built by a local old time engine builder who passed away only a couple years ago.
I forget it's specifics, but I know it made around 900 HP and over 1000 ft lbs.

The truck is still around, but that engine is long gone.

One of my dads friends recently built a supercharged engine for his HQ holden for drag racing. I think the cubes was something between 450-550 but it made about 650hp and close to 1000ftlbs. Each meeting it spins the wheels and struggles to run an 11 sec pass.

I guess big numbers are great if you have big space to use them on. On the other hand, if you don't have the space they will simply ensure you spend more time on the brakes than accelerating, which may or may not be your thing. Or alternatively you can take the weight reduction approach or handling. Or maybe in car entertainment is your thing and all you really want is 6 50" TV's in the back of a minivan and enough bass to dry your hair.

At the end of the day does it really matter?

If you get Mickey Thompson tires in Australia, put some drag radials on the back. You could claw back a ton of time that way.

The car uses 15x9 drag slicks. Nothing too crazy. The car would also be on the heavy size too, something like 3000-3500 pounds.

My dad,he used to have a 68'Mustang.I took him to a car show, and guess what some guy was selling. A cherry red 68'Mustang just like my dads.He bought it,of course, and now it sits in our garage until he gets time to drive it which he does everyday. he drives it to work, left me with his Mustang to drive. I am 17,I have a learners permit and I drive it here and there. I mostly stay home,I am a very shy and anti-social person... (Sorry about the date on the picture of the mustang,it was taken from my camera, not phone)

Do you even know what you are on about. The car has not been fully tubbed so anything above 15x9 wouldn't fit under the guards. There is no such thing as super street tyres, just drag slicks.

Why? Not everyone runs a 34.5.

As cool as an 800 horse big block is, you'll never be able to drive it on the street, It just wouldn't have any kind of street manners at all.

That's why if I was to build a big power something for myself, it would be diesel.

You could have 1000 HP and 2000 ft-lbs, and still take it through the drive through at McDonalds, or pull a boat with it or drive to the dentist's office with it.

anyway... radius cut the quarter panels, and put the widest, softest, largest, and just generally the best tires you can get your hands on.

You don't need a lot of power to have fun. My friend's 4 cylinder focus is a ton of fun to romp around in.

Can it burnout, do donuts, or lay number 11's? If so, then cool!

You can have fun with anything.

The only thing I haven't been able to have fun with is a fwd. But I know a lot of people do, so I guess I'm just not fwd-ing right.

    Edit:

Actually, that's not fair, as I had a hell of a lot of fun with a pair of cheap Cavaliers. both 4 cylinder-fwd obviously, but they still were still fun as shit to beat around the woods with.

Unless you have a highish HP FWD car they are only fun at lower speeds because you will shit your pants if the back starts to slide anywhere above around 110-120kph. (70+mph).
For a daily i would be perfectly happy with another 20-30 hp in my car. Its fun but would be nice if it could spin the wheels in first and second.

Also, front wheel drive reverse donuts.

    I forgot about those.
