Supposedly, it's possible to make a single turbo in BNGD that spools exactly like a twin setup (or maybe even quad i.e. Veyron/GT90, though I'm not quite sure on that), but that does mean that the turbos will take damage as though they were one turbo.

No, i mean having the option to have a tune option for a car that allows for actual twin turbo simulation.

    I thought that was Nitromethane.

Which is basically throwing water into the engine in such a way that it doesn't hydrolock so that the intake doesn't melt, and add some methanol with the water so that the water goes away with less damage.

Basically less intake temperatures and less exhaust gasses (slightly) but you are still throwing water into the engine and you would get better performance from a full on methanol system.

I have supercharger and turbo in my T-series, I haven't attempted two turbo's though and supercharger + turbo has some room for improvement as if I remember correctly it had only one rpm for both and making supercharger to boost at low end, while turbo at high end was not very easy, turbo acted more like supercharger and supercharger did build boost at high rpm, to compensate that lot of unrealistic adjustment to compressor map and other parameters would of been needed to make it really be like such system.

It is fine for game purposes though, but one has to give up from thought replicating reality, one has to use features available to replicate end result of such system and find means to get there. So it is not spitting out real results if you input real data, but it can drive quite close to real like when you use made up data.

I'm not familiar with methanol-only injection for gasoline-fueled vehicles. Are you referring to methanol used as a racing fuel (rather than a power-adder)?

I found this and thought it was a pretty good read-up: http://www.dieselarmy.com/engine-tech/how-it-works/how-it-works-water-methanol-injection/

edit. nvm - I see it does not mention anything about methanol only injection, only a recommendation to keep it 50% or lower. But I think what he means is a system like shown there. Instead of backyard mechanic system like this...

@fufsgfen could you post up the format of your turbo/supercharger jbeam?

I had multiple T/S setups working, in 0.7 then when 0.8 came around I could never get it to work..

I think I have the format set up wrong for 0.8.

I used modslot to add supercharger, so it had turbo by normal config and modslot added supercharger to top of that.

Just drag this to modfolder to test, ctrl-w and you see modslot in t-series, then add stage 4 supercharger. It also adds brakes, but I have not tuned those yet to any quality level, there is also lot more to tune, adjust etc, but this was just a quick test month or two ago to get truck to have around same level of power as R730 or something Scania.

If I could find motivation to work on it more I would finetune it more and put maybe get to work on camper again, that is where I plan to use this or some evolution from what comes from this version at some point.

That modslot was really PITA to figure out though, somehow it did not made sense at all first, but then I figured it out, but now I have forgotten again, anyway you should see from file how it is done :p

Update: Now I remembered something, better remove those brakes from zip, because in this version those were for burnouts so you have only front brakes and really strong parking brake for initiating drifts, which I used to do slalom drifting at grid map around those lines of cubes with T75 extended frame.
Just a heads up if you get WTF moments.

Yes. Exactly that. In water injection methanol is added also so that the water introduced does not greatly reduce the power output of the car.

I understand the reasoning behind water injection but i think its a crutch. There are better more complex way to design your car with less heating issues that will not require a power adder or water injection to keep the power up and heat down.

It again does not cause flames out of exhaust, top fuel cars inject into exhaust manifold to create flames for the crowd. The car under its own power does not shoot flames

I find that very hard to believe unless you have proof since that would take unnecessary weight and its very common for cars with short exhaust manifolds to spit flames (have you ever seen an old turbo F1 car while downshifting? afterfire happens everytime)

    No fire, eh?

I don't think it's actually the Nitrous itself causing fire, but more just after effect of unburnt fuel + short headers. Race gas and nitro-methane burn slower than regular octane gas.

That second pull though. How much nitrous does he need?

Being a 600 cuber probably helps too. Do you have any idea how much extra hp your nitrous gives?

    Yea that's pretty huge.

I had a 500 shot in mind when I designed it. It currently use the idle torque as a base value for nitrous multiplication. So, it varies depending on vehicle.
For a vehicle with an idle torque of 100, (typically reaching 300 without nitrous) you can get up to 800 torque under full throttle with nitrous.

Here's an early development screenshot. I don't think I am using same formula anymore but it is close.
