Accurate series of events of me watching Demon Review live -0-60: 2.3s "Hey, tesla!) -1/4 Mile: 9.625s @ 140mph (Spits out drink) "Christ riding a bike!" -840 Horsepower "Come on, thats it?" -Cheater slicks from the factory "Well i needs it lol" -Trans Brake "Ok wow" -Air intake where high beams should be (!) "Looks sick with lights inside eh?" Friend: (non-car guy) "Isn't that unsafe?" Me: "isn't the whole thing?" -It can do a wheelie "PFFFHHHTTT (drink explodes out of mouth) It can do a F*****G WHEELIE FROM THE FACTORY!? OMG WTF HOW IS THIS LEGAL!" Let me know what you think about this thing. Also the whole reveal was terrible. The whole cage thing was really cringey imo.
Yeah, they should have just unveiled it with a curtain or something. I think it is marvelous! It looks fantastic with the air grabber, and it goes like a jet fighter!
Oh ok. So it's going to be called the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon? Quickly, give Demon conversions to all of the SRTs! Except the Viper, because it's going out of production this year.
Wait, who made that review? This makes some sense, since Chrysler is also releasing a Jeep with a Hellcat engine. But yeah, they are insane. Which is why I like Dodge. Especially now that it is owned by a European manufacturer so there might be some American engines in Italian cars maybe one day.
Well, it looks cool. If any of you are on car throttle, you know that there are memes everywhere on there. well, kinda on the whole car internet. it looks cool, but I am really not into muscle.. the only thing i like about it is NHRA. thats cool. but anyways, this is pretty cool nonetheless. Also did they really change much from the hellcat? I think they should of made things a little different, but that's my opinion.
Did you hear that the Demon makes over 1,000 horsepower? Dodge is releasing the 840 horsepower figure, but read here: http://jalopnik.com/crazy-rumors-say-the-2018-dodge-challenger-srt-demon-ha-1794158315 Also, it is banned from NHRA events when it is stock, but all you need is a rollcage and a racing license. http://jalopnik.com/heres-why-the-dodge-challenger-srt-demon-is-banned-by-t-1794240969 --- Post updated --- It has a different hood, different air intake, different cooling system, and in the engine, different conrods and heads.
Hmm, I dunno that's really not enough differences for me still, but the Dodge Demon is still pretty cool, but the reveals...I didn't like that
I'm not. They wouldn't risk something like that. Dodge is very daring and just a little bit insane. Chevy might with a Mid-engine vette, but it's unlikely.
Dodge is gonna go out of business if they keep pumping out cars like this. Who's going to buy the Demon? Maybe a few hundred people, out of millions of potential customers. It seems now everything Dodge sells is a muscle car, and they're losing tons of revenue because they refuse to simply make a normal car; They have maybe one or two city/economy cars among dozens of several-hundred horsepower motorized testosterone pumps. All this stuff is great, and I love the Demon but nobody really wants to own (and pay for) an 800hp factory drag racing car.
I agree! If they made a more usual car, they could have an economy model, a sport model and a really fast model which people would actually buy because 550 BHP is the most you will ever need from the factory in a non-super/ high end sportscar. They need to think more M5 than Top Fuel Drag car. Also, if they want a car with 800 BHP just go ahead and call it the Challenger Viper. That would please at least a few people and maybe allow them to sell a couple.
It's all about the car. I didn't like the reveal either, but in the end, we still have an awesome muscle car.
