Hey Guys! So as some of you may know, I'm from Toledo, Ohio, which is significant because that's where the Jeep Wranglers are made. Something I always see with Wranglers is that there are no doors on them. Apparently, it's illegal to own a car without doors, but I've heard rumors that since we make them here, we're exempt to that law at our own risk. So, do any of you guys (who don't live in Toledo) ever see Wranglers without doors, or any cars without doors? I see these everyday.
These pointless threads need to stop. I've never owned a JK, But I've had CJ7's, YJ's, and driven a couple TJ's, and I've had the doors off all of them. It takes about 30 seconds to take them off, so why not? The only question on legality is about mirrors, All newer Jeeps have their mirrors are mounted on the doors, and if you take the doors off, you obviously are taking the mirrors off.
I personally think the doorless ones are unsafe, due to the lack of extra crumple zone, and they're dangerous in a side impact accident.
I agree completely. I believe you should at least have half doors, For the exact reason you said. --- Post updated --- And personally, I believe half doors look cooler than none at all.
I see ones without doors, but the ones I see probably half of the time have a roll bar across where the door should be.
Usually I'm all for going 100 on the freeway and risking my life to have fun, but I believe you should always be safe.
