You have no idea how much pride I've had to swallow to be able to say what I'm about to. This is truly something I would not be doing unless all possibilities (at least those known to me) have been explored, and in this case, exhausted.

As you all know my computer isn't the best, far from it. So much so that I'm unable to play BeamNG at more than 10 FPS, way too low to be efficient in creating respectable content. And I have spent months searching for ways to raise enough money to get a decent computer. First I thought of trying to sell my own models on sites such as Turbosquid. But I soon found out that nearly all model sites are complete rip-offs as far as your share of the profit is concerned. The rest had other various issues that prevented me from continuing with that plan of action. So then I turned to seeking out work as a Freelance modeler, again, there were too many circumstances that didn't allow me to do that. Now after a couple weeks of not having tried to work up any more money... I've come to this decision.

I simply cannot do this on my own. So, as much as I regret resorting to this, I have to now hope that people want to see this truck enough that they donate even a small amount of money so that I may soon be able to afford a new computer that can at least run BeamNG decently enough for me to continue with modding it, and most of all finishing this truck. A few people have already suggested this, but I originally decided against it. Mostly due to pride. I've been taught to work for what I want, and that you won't get anything by just asking, it must be earned. But it's now apparent to me that it's either this, or face the fact that the truck can't possibly be finished in the near future.

Kickstarter is not an option for me since you have to be 18 or older, which I am far from. (Most of the RoR immigrants will know that) But anyone can have a Paypal account, so that's always there.

So it's up to you now. If you truly want this truck bad enough that you will help me achieve this goal, I would greatly appreciate anything you could do to help. If not, thanks anyway. If you cared enough to read the post to this point, thanks for lending a minute or two of your life. :p

If you're looking to donate, just send me a PM. I'll give you the email address to send the donation.

Mow lawns. I made around 300+ bucks this summer doing that. (I'm still doing fall cleanup stuff :D) I paid for a couple laptop screens and my 650ti and a few other things that way. For a decent computer, I can recommend an AMD A8 and a compatible motherboard. Why? The A8 is one of the best budget CPUs out there. It's not that powerful, but it's a great overclocker (Run mine at 5.4GHz) and since it's an APU you can use the built in GPU until you get enough money for a good GPU. (Exactly what I did. I have the A8-3850 which has a Radeon 6550D. If you buy a similar 65xx card you can actually CrossFire it.)

Well I would, but we don't exactly live in a residential area. Large, large properties. Far too much for someone without a riding mower to do by themselves. :p

Build your own, my machine ran close to 3000 for the alienware version but I spent maybe 1200 on mine. Liquid cooled i5, gtx 680, ssd yada yada...

Haha, that would be amazing if it was possible. It's the thought that counts, though. :)

But, until I can get something worthy of running BeamNG without fighting lag the whole time, I'll have to call this quits. There's really no point in keeping the thread going on hopes and dreams of being able to finish this in a realistic amount of time. So I've officially cancelled this project. Who knows when I'll finally be able to get a decent computer, it could be years from now, and by that time BeamNG will have plenty of semi trucks, I'm sure.

Thanks again for all of your kind words towards this truck.

Well, Christmas is coming up. I got the base parts for my computer at Christmas. (Just motherboard, CPU, RAM. The rest I had to either buy or re-use.)

Or there was someone on here (Forget who the are) who said they got a Core 2 Duo and a motherboard for under $20 on eBay. You could certainly go that way. (The motherboard for my old P4 setup was $15 on ebay years ago.)

That's kind of a special circumstance though. It was a btx dell motherboard. I got it for $17.59 with a core 2 duo 2ghz and 4gb of ram in it. When I got it it was broken. The ebay seller took 3 weeks to send another and that one was broken too, but disabling the onboard ethernet made made it work fine. That one had a 2.8ghz c2d. It runs beamng at 30fps or so.
Edit: more like 24fps. I am sure i saw higher before though. oh well

if disabling the on-board ethernet plug made the motherboard work, then its not the motherboard thats broken, but either the driver's, or the onboard ethernet

If you bought a new motherboard and the ethernet did not work would you not consider the board broken?
