Also just as a note to @FLyInG 2 YoUr SoUL I see you are asking people kindly not to release or share modifications to the truck, like different real life truck skins and what not. Which isn't a problem within itself, but the problem is that it is very difficult to enforce that. Since the mod is released and it is free, there is no real way of stopping people from doing so. I just wanted to let you know, that there is a very high chance people are going to do it anyways. I've seen it happen many times on Sim-Monsters over the past 7 years, and it will surely happen again.
I know. Being now on our mod repository, unauthorized modifications can't be released on here though. Of course, that only covers the specific parts of the project I can claim authorship on: I don't want the JBeam reused as long as I'm still actively working on this mod. That won't stop anyone from doing whatever they want with it and I know that, but at least there's some warning sign in place.
so if i were to remove the breakable front clip from the previous bodies, would i be able to release them again or is that still a no?
The whole Jbeam has been redone completely. There's more to it than just the body. The only way would be to start from SealedGecko's again. --- Post updated --- Besides. There's a reason why the body pack including all the previous bodies was cancelled. If that was ok with me, I would simply release that myself.
So... The body pack could be finalized and redistributed here. For private use only. As for the public version, and the future direction development is going to take... I'd like this mod to walk on its own legs now. No more RoR ports other than what's included already... and, hopefully, no more sterile polemics. CRD is built over legacy content and it's too late to change that. It will likely be forgotten soon as "that stolen mod that caused much fuss", instead of being remembered for the immense improvements we could bring over the underdeveloped original. I'm the one to blame its tainted reputation and I take full responsibility for that. When I started this, I never thought we'd get this far. I barely knew how to edit a JBeam... It was literally a backyard project shared with a couple friends... Well... Upcoming projects are being built with new resources. Sure, working with people active on both communities, some content is inevitably going to be shared, but I think it's time to give this project a new, fresher approach. And dignity. I'm taking these two days off to rest... catch my breath and reorganize... We'll be back to work soon!
The Cohen chassis was modelled by ROCKGODBOSS (who is now making an updated version of it for us to use). I did the JBeam for the first edition. Most subsystems can be reused with little to no modifications. So yeah, it's pretty much new. That's exactly what I meant before with "shared resources": ROCKGODBOSS is also active on Sim-Monsters.com and the same chassis will likely underpin some of his RoR trucks, but at least this time we can use assets that were purposedly donated to the project.
OMIGAWD F2YS IS MY FAVOURITE GUY EVER HE MIGHT DISTRIBUTE THE BODY PACK AND I MIGHT GET MY ZOMBIE HUNTER BACK EDIT: I knew I was right not to lose faith in you F2YS, you go take a break. You deserve it. Myself and all the others will still be here, planning something big. (Or could you say bigfooted hehehe.) #Bigfoot4 0DoubleFrontflip
