The in-game San Andreas is square-shaped and its area is estimated to be 33 square kilometres in size (12.7 square miles)... Huge work to achieve! But with a fairly large teamwork and lot of patience... a meticulous job! http://gta.wikia.com/wiki/State_of_San_Andreas_(3D_Universe) Working on a large map would be cool
I am really sorry to bump this, but I feel like I could add some stuff to this thread (which also allows me to avoid creating a new thread - it's better to stick to that one in my opinion). First of all, I must say I was quite satisfied with the reactions to the original post of this thread, be it posts or simply ratings. It seems that Italy will answer my original post to some extend. Yes, it appears that there are multiple little towns on the map, as well as a bigger one. Sure, it's not an enourmous map depicting an entire state (which is far from being doable in Beam right now), but it already seems to be quite awesome. I must also mention the fact that there will be both farms and a vineyard, which is great. Now, there is a little something I noticed on official maps... Lack of signage. I can't tell if this is planned or not, and if it is planned, maybe the devs are waiting to implement destroyable stuff, and prefered to not include some as of now ? I am aware there are some signs, such as the MOAB sign on the Utah map, but that's all I can think of. I will also put this here, but it's just a random idea I add... Would it be possible to do a city with tramways ? I assume it would be really painful to do (I guess if someone tried, they would just make one block and get upset over how complicated it is to get working, lol), but it could be a nice addition. Really painful to use tho I guess. It would sure be cool, but I doubt such huge maps can be made for BeamNG as of now.
