My school has a 3d printer and I thought it'd be cool to print some BeamNG cars. I know I can't just throw the .dae at the printer because the models are made for a game not a printer. So before printing I should simplify the models for printable form (get rid of overhangs etc.). But before doing that, I want to know what the policy on this kind of stuff is? Does BeamNG restrict this kind of use for their 3d models? And if I'm allowed to make some prints, can I distribute the printable models here on forums?

Its probably possible. remove all interiour everything, join exterior faces. I would print the roof section seperate however and glue them together, unless you want either supports or infill. Wheels will need to be printed seperate. Maybe a small nail or something to attach it and to make it roll?

I have access to a 3d printer, and I've been making detailed, modular car models (Rolling wheels, interiors, glass, everything). If someone can put the car files as .STLs, I'll see what I can do.

i was working on making a solid mesh yesterday. Problems im seeing though, wheel arches will need support, roof will need support, small bodylines, will likely have to be removed. I will most likely be 3d printing this on my printer when i finish. I will probably make 2 versions. One without pillars added for support, which will be better for small prints, because you can use infill. And a mesh with support pillars, which is better for bigger prints.

Ive never used it, but i see problems that may occur. 1) model needs to be a solid object 2) parts of the model(bodylines mainly) need to be edited to be more printable. 3) interior faces need to be deleted
