You have to somehow do it at the end of the month, like 10 minutes before midnight should be a good time to start.
Started the download at 6 on data (2Gb guaranteed 2MB/s but unlimited), and it finished before 5 in the morning. I'm not throttled even though I'm twice my cap, because I'm in the middle of nowhere and it's night. But when I get to school...
on mobile! I have to manage with 1GB and 250MB it is ok but facebook videos creep into your allowance
I have unlimited on my home connection, 6GB on mobile. I also have a Hitachi Deskstar 7k2000. Been perfectly good for me for the past 6-7 years. Of course this will remain true until the day it doesn't. Equally I had a Maxtor drive that went for over 10 years and was still working at the end. So I guess have been super lucky in general Really need to get some form of backup sorted though. My programming projects are already on GitLab so they are fine, university work is on OneDrive so its probably fine. Just the other stuff. Should buy a 1TB external hard drive to copy photo's etc onto.
I have unlimited at home and unlimited on mobile for 10 euros a month but it doesnt have 4G internet and my home internet is really slow like 3 mb per second
woah a Maxtor drive!! those things are the plague! I had one die on me and it only had around 2 years flying head hours.
10 GB for home is way too low cap. I have unlimited for home(I use on average about 150GB a month. Less on some months, more when I download games or start a new TV series.) On mobile I used to have 2GB a month and it was enough for Instagram and simple web browsing, but recently I started watching more Youtube away from home, so I usually overspent 2x2GB (1.99 euros for every 2GB). Now I have unlimited mobile data for Youtube on-the-go and creating hotspot in some cases when wifi at home is too slow in evenings
What's funny is I used to take 20Gbs a day, about 600 a month. I'm not sure how.. Fallout 4 is done, and I'm 30Gb over my limit. Not throttled because I'm in the middle of nowhere so no one is using the towers, making me have priority too.
The Maxtor drive was a 4GB model though. So I guess less margin to go wrong Anyway, since the last post I decided to sort out the backup issue. Time to start organizing and copying files.
ahh ok, yeah I had an 80GB Maxxtor and WD 80GB, the western digital is almost 12 years old and still works, but for some reason as soon as you plug it in to a windows machine it doesn't work and throws a bunch of errors etc
I fixed my gaming computer! (kinda) lots of things still don't work, but atleast I can play beam again! I've just been using the "frying pan" to hold me over until I could fix my gaming laptop (to get windows 7 drivers for my i7, i had to tether the Ethernet from the frying pan to it!)
x that i7 is really good! 4700MQ is a good chip ****EDIT**** this is the time when I haul out my old windows 7 laptops to get them patched for the wannacry thing
I still gotta do that! only thing is, the cooling system is absolute junk, because the laptop Idles at 90C!
yeah, some laptops don't have robust cooling solutions, I will need to replace the thermal paste on one of my laptops (ADVENT one) since the CPU is reaching 80c and only warm air out the side, not hot **EDIT** Oh and does that i7 machine have a GPU? if it does then you have a furnace on your lap
it has integrated graphics. Funny story, I had a previous frying pan with a pentium 4. The thermal cutoff switch failed so the computer assumed cold and shut the fans off. The cpu was not cold! It reached over 280 degrees Celsius (536F) before i shut it off! it melted most of the plastic that was near the laptop, and the copper heatsink. IT STILL WORKED AFTER THAT! Pentium 4 for ya
lol I'm using the smart TV's browser right now. It honestly isn't too bad for the BeamNG Website, but it just doesn't work at all for speedtest.net, which is annoying because I was curious how good the TV's wireless was.
