I really want this game, and I have a mac. I was planning on buying a laptop. For this and some other games I play that require pc. Anyone have beam on a laptop that isn't to expensive, yet runs well?
What is your idea of not too expensive? I'm running on a 900 Euro laptop and get okay FPS on low settings. It has a 2.6Ghz dual core and Nvidea GT 630m with 8GBs of RAM. If you want a computer to run this game well, I say get a desktop. They're cheaper and more powerful.
I have Asus K53SJ with Geforce GT 520M, Intel i5 2.3 GHz 4 cores, and 4 GB RAM. This system runs the game pretty smooth on lowest At least I can play the game.
I have an i7 4700mq and gt750m and that is the min. to get 30fps on medium. I payed 1300€ but you can probably get it for 1000€ if you search.
Get yourself a budget desktop for gaming and a older/cheap laptop for on the go stuff and light gaming. (My desktop was less than $400 and laptop was missing parts but I got it for free and spent about $80 to fix it up) (Laptop gets 50fps on lowest in grid map with a D15 missing lots of parts. Desktop does 60fps in grid with most cars and max settings with postfx off. (30-40 in a vegetated map)) You have to remember that mobile versions of CPUs and GPUs are usually MUCH worse than their desktop counterparts. This is because they need to operate on less power and give off much less heat.
some of us don't have a choice, not everyone lives in a house you know. but to answer the question, my HP Pavilion g7 run the game pretty good, but anything over 3 cars on a decent map is lag city. but that's not a problem as I normaly run 2 cars (1 with AI), its also worth noting that most of my settings are maxed out, not ALL of them just most of them. an HP like the one I have will run you about $400-$600 depending on where you get it.
I stuck the Powered by EVGA sticker that came with my GPU and a AMD Phenom II sticker on my laptop. Equally as good. (I also have a Intel Inside sticker from a Pentium I on there. (With MMX!))
End of the day, none of them. If you have room for a desktop, get a desktop. I personally have an HP Sleekbook 14. Not the cheapest system out there. Its using one of the ultrabook low voltage model core i3 CPU's @1.8ghz with intel HD4000 graphics. It does run BeamNG. But 3 cars is too many, 2 cars you start to notice fps drops. Settings all low-medium. Its not great for gaming, its not the most powerful for the price, I got it because I cant lug my desktop back and forth from uni every day.
You need atleast one of these specs: Thats my notebook, paid 1300€ and i can run it high 70fps. Just imagine they add more features and cars. All the others who answered before me, cant play this game with 30 fps anymore. Its not overheating, tested with BeamNG, BF3 on ultra, Far Cry 3, GTA 4 modified
I have never had a house, I lived for about 3 months in an apartment (way smaller than you would think) with 3 thieving room mates. then I bought a 28ft motorhome, bigger than my room in the apartment yes. room for a pc and a desk? no way. some years later I started driving a truck (OTR coast to coast) im out for 6-8 weeks at a time and I live in the sleeper. 5ft by 7ft, most of witch is a bed, for me and the wife to share while were on the road. when were not on the road we go back to the motorhome, witch is in a storage lock-up. as I said we don't all live in a house. btw never lived under a bridge, have slept on my share of park benches tho.
If I lived in a motorhome I would find a way to fit my desktop in it. Maybe put it in a waterproof box on the roof then use the TV as a monitor? Same with trucks. Don't most sleeper cabs have little TVs in them?
Nope, you don't know trucking man. It's not a gloryfest, but it can be neat. Liar, the GTX 670m was weaker than my hd 7770 and I can barley manage maxed at 30, physics off.
Been a long time since I was in a truck (have been a few times as a kid), but certainly not spacious enough for a conventional desktop PC. If your willing to get clever though you could possibly do a concealed miniITX build perhaps, same for a trailer or motorhome. Watercooling may be required for that as most concealed spaces probably wont have adequate airflow for cooling. In either of those cases I would honestly be suggesting a laptop. Apartments however you should have room.
Many drivers add tvs, I have one myself. but if you use the room in your truck for things you want, you have less room for things you need. like food, drink, oil, DEF, extra wiper fluid, tools, tire chains, cloths, flares, spare parts, soap, detergent, washrags, towls (you don't want to use the ones at the truck stops), fith wheel grease, flashlights, battery, etc etc....... the list goes on and on. also keep this in mind, whatever you put in your rig has to deal with the abuse the road will put it through, think about it. potholes, bumping docks, poor ventilation, water leaks, power surges, power spikes, power system failure, and of course WCS a crash. this rig has already broken 2 laptops, I wouldent dare put a desktop in here.
Had a very close friend become homeless. 2 nights his family slept in their car, then they got a motel room for a month followed by them all splitting up and staying with friends for another month before they finally got a hostel and since then a council house. Can't just make assumptions about peoples living arrangements.
Well, that does make sense.. But doesn't all that stuff you listed go in compartments under the cab or something? I'm not all that familiar with trucks but I do have an idea of what they're like.
that depends on the truck, a stock truck generaly wont have extra compartments on the side or under the cab, with the exeption of a 1.5ft x 2.5ft storage area under the bunk accesable from the outside. many drivers add toll boxes, chain racks and other storage units under the cab. unfortunately if your truck is owned by the company you drive for (most of them are) then you cant modify them without the companies concent, and trust me they wont let you do ANYTHING to the body/exterior of the truck. if you have your own truck you can do whatever you want to it, but good steel boxes cost good money. also if you have a newer aerodynamicly shaped rig (like mine) then the space you have to mount such accessories is limited. I have a chain rack installed on mine, but that's all there is room for, unless I remove the skirts, have steps built, and relocate the fuel tanks. none of witch my company would let me do ofcourse. that's one of the many reasons im looking into buying my own truck.
