Intel is the better processor imo, but more expensive. It's a massive subject that requires more than one person, so I really recommend ananadtech.
Forza isnt a Sim, its more like a simcade or simarcade thing. Forza and GT doesnt simulate tyres, suspension, etc. to be called as Sim, but marketing is doing their job good. Assetto Corsa, iRacing, GTR2 are racing Sims. They got pitstops, weather, damage system, everything you can dream off in your "only-sunny-days-driving" Sorry for this rude answer, but sentences like your one are making me sick.
Forza 5 is a dissapointment imo, it just doesn't look as fun as it used to be. The steering wheel is really messed up incar, and that really ruined it for me. Plus, the cars don't really sound like their real-life counterpart anymore. - - - Updated - - - Finally someone who sees what I see, Forza never hit me as a simulator, no matter how hard and how much they say it is. Mainly because it started out as a arcade racing game, so it will always have its arcade elements, it will never replace the Gran Turismo series.
<compulsory ontopic answer seeming as I probably bent it offtopic in the first place> Already voiced my opinion on Intel vs AMD. Might want to consider whether you are going to use ATX or microATX motherboards. I use MicroATX because I didnt have room for a full size case and as mentioned above I was on a very tight budget. I prefer the small formfactor anyway, but it is also harder to work within (manageable though). Never cheap out on your PSU. You want something from a reputable brand, and ideally you should overspec on the power supply, I have always been told to overspec by 50% which I think is ridiculously high to overspec by. I saw a suggestion by bubbleawesome in another thread to instead overspec by the inefficiency of the power supply. Don't forget about the cost of the OS when budgeting. Seen quite a few people saying they have a £500 budget, getting £500 worth of hardware and then forgetting about the cost of a copy of windows although if you are a student you may be eligible to get a copy for free. As for xbox vs PC. Eventually I will be getting an xbox one for the few console exclusive titles I want. That is unless they suddenly come over to PC. Thats ok as I dont plan to buy an xbox for a few years so they have time to migrate instead.

The Xbox One functions perfectly fine without an internet connection, they went back on that decision after people complained about it so badly at the E3 unveil.

Live for Speed is way, way, way, way better than Pcars imho... Played Pcars a while when it was in beta, but it really didn't feel as dynamic as live for speed, to me, anyway... And as for the thread: I'd go for intel, personally, but both have their benefits...
In my experience, probably AMD over intel. I won't worry as much about upgrading my phenom as I'd worry about upgrading an i7. Bang for buck, and all that. If you're building with BeamNG in mind, it might be nice to grab one of AMD's 8 core processors assuming you pick the right motherboard with it. Just, check the sockets. Most processors even have a compatibility list with them on the official website. It really depends what you want. I'm on AMD's side mainly for market politics. How much do you think it'd suck for the development of hardware if Intel had total market dominance without the threat of competition to keep them on their heels? That and my British sympathies for the underdog. However, that's another topic for another forum

Actually, no. Grip isn't a problem for me, even on an Xbox 360 controller. It feels like it's almost on rails but with a random number generator that decides whether or not your car spins when you contact a rubber curb. The fact that I can drive almost carelessly and still handle it without needing a wheel makes it feel not sim-like. BeamNG is something that feels like you need a wheel, you can feel the weight of the car throwing you off when you go too fast, and it feels far more realistic.
