    that's funny. I've only gotten to 110 in my 300zx and it's a 3.0l.

I need to find a longer road though. That was only turning like 4k in 5th gear it can go faster :D

Well mine was kinda screaming, if it had any more to give it would probably only be another 5mph or so, I did have more road though :p

The 1 litre doesnt have problems with speed for normal driving, its just getting to 60mph takes like 15 seconds, utter hilarity on the A45 with it. Little roundabout on a dual carriageway I commute along, I have to come off the roundabout straight into the outside lane rather than inside and wait to get upto speed while just about everyone overtakes me, then somewhere down the road once I have hit a speed high enough for policeman plod to potentially be interested I shall overtake them :p

engine size or number of pistons dosent relly mater, its gearing that make a car fast. take my mustang for instance, has alittle over 400HP, however the top speed is about 115mph. the reason? its a 3-speed slap-stick with relatively low gears, so its very very QUICK, but not FAST by any means.

on the other end of the spectrum is my Lincoln continental. it weighs twice as mutch as the stang and only has about 200-230HP. But ive had it up to 145mph, Mutch mutch higher gear ratios. on the other hand, you can mesure 0-60 with a calendar.

Depends really, the V8s from the 60's (in America atleast) have gobs of power, but in the 70's strickter regulations were placed on cars, fuel became mutch more expensive, and insurance rates skyrocketed on "muscle cars". so engines were robbed of power by all the addons to reduce emissions, and lost power when they were redsigned to be more fuel efficient. couple that with the fact that muscle car sales were down (due to insurance rates, and fuel cost) and its no suprize that major companys stop producing high performance engines for their vehicles. this continued on through the 80's and into the 90's until car companys found ways to get affordable power out of their (now chocked down) engines that didn't require raising the engines displacement.

in the alfa romero though... that orientation is pretty much always indicative of a front wheel drive, and a v8 FWD seems almost ludicrous hahaha so... much... torque-steer....
