Yeah no. You must be using the latest version of the game. If you purchased the game, then just follow these, accordingly to where you bought the game: http://wiki.beamng.com/Updating_the_game If you haven't, then consider it.
First of all: great work. But I'll unfortunately complain about controls. I waited sooo long for update but when time has come it's nearly unplayable with keyboard, I spend more time trying staying up than setting some epic crashes.
Keyboard is super limited when it comes to control this plane. You have only 0-1 inputs, while flying is more than that (Pilots don't use buttons to fly) Try using your mouse instead. Or, as written in the first line of the mod's description, a controller/joystick, which is recommended for this plane.
0.5.2.1, You need to update to 0.9.0.5 --- Post updated --- That didnt work. I am running on the latest version of the game and i still get the same problem.
You checked if it's another mod you have that is conflicting with this one? (ie. try with only this mod installed)
Yes, I would try a complete reinstall. but make sure you dont have ANY traces of any old b25 mods anywhere. Also try clearing cache and launching the game in safe mode
How to perform a clean reinstall properly: http://wiki.beamng.com/BeamNG_FAQ#How_do_I_perform_a_clean_reinstall.3F
There is no assistance with flying in BeamNG. Almost every other game has some sort of assistance when you're flying with a keyboard, which makes it much easier to do. You really should invest in a controller or joystick for this, and any other flying games you have. A decent HOTAS will take time to get used to, but you'll love it in every game you have.
You do realise that would mean jbeaming and programming an entire firing system, right? Not to mention every single bullet would have to be jbeamed as well. With a minimum of 4 nodes per mesh, even if we grouped together rounds from each gun (pretending that they were synchronized IRL, which they were not, and pretending that synchronized bullets don't have different trajectories), given a machine gun's fast firing rate, you'd need at least 100 more nodes just to get 25 shots (Compared to the real plane's 500 rounds per gun, for just the offensive armament), so any strafing run would be over almost instantly. Not to mention that this would only work for guns that point in the same direction, and the actual firing systems themselves would have to be jbeamed as well. In short, it would be a lot of work and would significantly hinder the game's performance, for something that would last less than 5 seconds and wouldn't be able to cause that much damage.
When i installed the mod and spawned the plane, both of the propellers were square and said "NO MATERIAL" do I clear the game cache or reinstall the mod?
Did you reset the plane ? Did you have the older B-25 mod ? if you do, did you delete it ? Are you sure you are using the same game version as the latest one ?
I'll be honest, isn't this in violation of copyright? North American was a real company, and this was a real plane. Was there some agreement set up with who ever owns the copyright?
It defunct on March / 1967. We are on 2017 m8, so I think everyone who worked on that company passed away.
Someone has to own the copyright somewhere. Companies just don't all of a sudden become part of the public domain. I have a feeling there is someone, somewhere who still owns the trademark North American, just so they can make money off of things like this. I did some research. North American Aviation merged, and became North American Rockwell. Their trademark expired in 1992, this plane is public domain now, as is any other products by North American and North American Rockwell.
